Who would’ve thought that one of the best Mexican restaurants in New Orleans is in Chalmette? Located in an obscure shopping plaza, the high-pitched shrill to announce you’ve entered the restaurant is quickly forgiven when the food starts to arrive. With only 3 booths to eat in, this place isn’t made to hold a lot of people, but with food this good I’m surprised there’s not a line out the door. Everything is homemade, from the freshly made warm red & green salsa that they bring to your table, to the handmade corn & flour tortillas and Aqua Fresca. This is as authentic as Mexican gets in the States, and definitely worth the short trip from New Orleans!

This place is so fantastic. 20 bucks including 5 dollar tip. Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in Chalmette during the course of my entire life….. that’s not saying a lot though. This place is literally the best place in the area.

They served chips and warm green salsa, I ordered beef tacos a la cart they came with onions and cilantro on the side. I was very happy to see that the tortillas were hand made. Needless to say I am glad I stayed the food was delicious. This place is a gem!

Found this little Mexican spot driving by. Authentic Mexican in Chalmette! So delicious! Chunky guac..homemade corn tortillas. Who could ask for anything more.
