I've been eating at waffle houses all over the south for as long as I can remember. It's one of my go-to places to eat while working away from home. You can expect the food to be the same at every one you go to, which is what I like about it. On the other hand, you do get different experiences depending on the staff. Let's just say that I've seen it all with my 14 years of traveling on the road chasing the mighty dollar. The experience I had at this particular waffle house this early morning hour was not one of the best by far. The food was typical, what you can expect, but they definitely scraped the bottom of the barrel with that waitress. She had one of those F it attitudes. I had to ask for my own drink after the food was handed to me by the cook, not her, and she jjst gave me that F you look when i asked where my drink was. Then i had to ask for a refill twice when she could clearly see I was out of drink. I had to repeat myself twice while giving my order because she just wasn't paying attention to me and she still told it wrong to the cook. She gave me and other guests plastic silverware when the bins with the metal silverware was completely full. She just didn't wanna do her job and wash em. When I told her to take off the cheese from my ticket due to me not getting it on my hashbriwns like I asked, she gave me yet another F you look and proceeded to tell me "it's only 50 cents". I told her I don't pay for stuff I don't receive. There was only me and one other table in there at that time but there was three other tables that were full of dirty plates from her not doing her job and cleaning it up. Then she had the audacity to say " I'm sorry sir, I'm the only one here and I'm overwhelmed", when I went to pay the check. Clearly trying to get more of a tip out of me by trying to make me feel sorry for her. Even though when I walked in there was noone else there and she was just sitting on her butt playing on her phone. Even after all that I still gave her a 22% tip because I know times are tough. Out of all these years of me going to waffle houses across the south, this has been one of the worst experiences. If I go back and she's my waitress again, I will be walking...
Read moreFirst off 5 stars. Place was busy, and employees were polite and happy. We were greeted walking in and immediately upon sitting down. Our order was two waters, coffee, waffle, grits, bacon and triple hash brown. Beverages were kept full (with out asking) and a coffee was offered to go. Our food was correct, delicious, and came out quickly. We were given a regular sized bacon when we ordered a large and our server immediately noticed and corrected. All the servers were happy and busy. There was a woman working the waffle station who appeared to be running the kitchen. And I watched She ran her station, quality controlled and assisted the servers. I can only assume she was a supervisor. She was calling tickets loudly, clearly and giving positive feed back to the servers and cooks. When orders were complete I saw her indicate a quick water break time where all the servers came and got water. It took just a few seconds and everyone got back to work. It appears that everyone worked well together. Our servers name was Tarsha Johnson. She was an excellent server, and we enjoyed having her. I haven't met many servers like her and give her high marks. The woman with short hair working the waffle staion, q.c. checking, and calling orders was an amazing employee and I would recommend someone from corporate look into her. Training supervisor or restaurant manger. Looked like she was running a 5 star in there. The only critique is the restaurant cleanliness. The floors in the entrance ways, seating area, and kitchen badly needed work, however the tables plates and silverware...
Read moreSorry but I have to say something. My girlfriend and I just got out of a concert, not having any energy left, we live 12 hours away from here, had a long day, after traveling all day, and attending a concert. We decided we wanted to visit this Waffle House before we arrived to our hotel across the street. First of all we got off the vehicle, walked to the door, we missed the sign that said only to go orders after a certain time of night. We got yelled at by 4 employees standing outside smoking weed from their cars. Treating us as if we were under the influence.. I never felt so disrespected from employees who are smoking weed outside of this establishment. Management needs to have their employees on check. The employee was smoking weed in a black mustang, that employee yelled out “can’t you read the sign!!! From inside the mustang, also and an employee from Wendy’s was even included in their smoking session. Also even had a lady yell at us and said “go home!!!” Like.. what??? Not professional at all. Back home in Texas we don’t have waffle houses so we don’t know their rules for over night visits. Not happy with my experience. We felt targeted, and treated badly, we don’t do drugs, nor drink alcohol if that’s the perception they thought of us.
Management please check cameras around 1:40am-1:45am...
