My husband and I have visited a few locations in the greater Baton Rouge area over the past few years, in fact, we visit Walk On’s at minimum 2 times a month, and we enjoy the food as well as the typically great service. However, last week, we had a different experience when eating lunch at the Prairieville/ Gonzales location on Airline Hwy. What made this experience different was the service we received from our waitress, Marhonda. Actually, it would be more accurate to say the lack of service from Marhonda. She was hardly friendly when she stopped at our table the first time to ask us about drinks or appetizers, and the level of service declined from there. We placed our order, and she did not return to our table until she brought our entrees. After that point, she never came back. Not once. We never received drink refills, she never checked to see if we enjoyed the food, by the way, were good. My husband had intended to order a second beer but, since Marhonda apparently forgot we were there, he didn't get the opportunity. If I could offer one suggestion on the salads, it would be to cut the amount of lettuce! The salads we received had enough lettuce for 3 salads...really a waste... After we finished our entrees and sat at our table for another ten minutes, my husband went to the hostess station and asked if we could please get our check. She found Marhonda and presumable told her that my husband had asked about the check. When she brought the check to us a few minutes later, she didn't say a word to us. Instead, she handed the check to my husband and stood there while he looked for his credit card. When she returned with the ticket, she said a quick, "Thanks...", and walked away. No apology for her failure to provide us with any real service. Needless to say, we left disappointed, as this was our first visit to this location. We...
Read moreService was horrible. 4 out of the 5 beers we asked for we’re tapped out. My friend ordered a gin and tonic that 99% of the time comes with a lime. Knowing this because I’ve been a bartender for 12 plus years. His didn’t have one when he requested one, the bartender looked under in her bar cooler and after she noticed they didn’t have any in that cooler, she just told him they didn’t have any more. Never trying to go check the coolers in the back or cut anymore. Yes it was a couple hours till closing. But you should at least go look in the back. I ordered an Alfredo pasta it didn’t come with the garlic bread. Once I asked hey was this supposed to come with bread. She pawned it off on her other bartender saying I think she went to go check on it. Never did she confirm or come back till I was done with my meal to ask if everything was okay. To top it all off they had a homeless man in there picking at people’s scraps begging for money and food at the door. He obviously was under the influence and shouldn’t of been served a beer nor allowed in but they did anyway after another customer felt bad and bought him a beer to get him away from everyone else at the bar. Not sure where the manager on duty was. But I’d have to say this was going to be my Sunday football spot I live close to the area. But after this experience it’s a hard pass. Being a corporate chain I expected better service and an environment during this...
Read moreUpdated Review We've been dining here more often because the food and service has improved greatly. And especially last night, we sat on the bar side, our waitress was wonderful and the manager was so nice to come explain to us why my husband's food was taking so long and offered him a complimentary soup or salad. And we didn't notice the time b/c a good football game was on TV! And our food came out, it was fresh and flavorful. When we were ready to pay our waitress went fixed our ticket to take off my husband's entree. And we didn't expected that. Whatever changed in management and training, it's WONDERFUL!!! Keep up the great job!
4 years ago We go to this location because its close to home. The food is edible half of the time. I've had half cooked rice before with my ettoufee. And this past visit, the catfish and ettoufee I ordered was so salty, I could only eat a few bites. Also the times before, we've had hard as rock shrimps, food come out cold, and missing part of our order. Then the service...everytime we've visited, we've yet to have a good server/waitress. I don't know if they're not trained correctly or that they're young teenagers that can't remember the orders. My family and I worked in the restaurant business, so we are very patient and understanding. But to be consistently bad...that's not a good sign of management. The only decent Walk-Ons we've been to is the one in...
