At last, we were able to find a parking spot at Barrel 33 Tavern & Grill. Just keep in mind, that parking is very limited at this establishment. We were a little shocked upon entering Barrel 33 to find most of their business was at the bar. We were able to seat ourselves and had numerous choices of tables. Our server arrived at our table a short time later and inquired about drinks and appetizers. My wife and I passed on the appetizers, but we did order two glasses of the house Pinot Grigio. The pours of the wine were generous as compared to a number of other restaurants we have visited. My wife ordered the Fish Tacos. She had a choice of either flour or corn tortillas for her shells. The tacos arrived with blacked fish, avocado, cabbage, and a few lines of chipotle lime crema. She couldn't find the pico de gallo as mentioned on the menu. The tacos were accompanied by a nice portion of chips and salsa. My wife enjoyed the fish tacos. She did mention they were not bad, but she has had better. She did think the salsa which came with the chips was very tasty. I ordered the two-piece fish sandwich which was stated to be fried cod, but could have been pollock. No deal breaker here if it was pollock. Both are varieties of white, low-fat fish. The two pieces of fish were very large. In fact, I ordered my fish with wheat bread ( had choices of wheat, rye, or white) but, just passed on the bread due to the size of the two pieces of fish. The fish was good, but a little chewy. The order of fish came with a choice of one side. I enjoyed the smoked potato salad and it was the highlight of the meal for me. All in all the food was good, but not the best we have had. It's bar food, with good portions, is the best way to describe Barrel 33. We most likely will return to try sometime different on their menu. I need to also mention they have whiskey by the bottle to go. There were a few good bourbons visible in the display case, but a little pricey in my opinion. But, if you are looking for that bottle of Blanton's bourbon ($155.00) they have it! Once again, I'm stuck between three or four stars for an establishment. I wish Google would allow for half-stars. Anyway, I'm going with four stars due to the size of the portions and the generous pours of wine.

My husband and I visited Barrell 33 after checking out options for Louisville Burger Week. The parking was very limited but we were immediately seated. Unfortunately, our table for two was directly next to incoming guests waiting to be seated. It definitely made us feel awkward every time someone came in. We watched as each table around us got the most delicious looking plates of fish, chicken, grilled cheese, fries, etc. I was so excited to try their smash burger on a gluten free bun! Not very many restaurants offer a bun I can eat. It did not disappoint! The burger was delicious and flavorful! Instead of a side, we ordered the "Tavern Tots" appetizer to share. It was fully loaded and saucy. I really liked them! We can't wait to go back and try a few other options. Though the venue didn't leave us feeling the most comfortable, the food definitely made up for it.

Had a great time! Thoroughly enjoyed the apps: St. Louis toasted ravioli, pretzel bread and beer cheese, and potato skins. We have a family tradition of occasionally eating "tapas style" with lots of apps instead of a meal. For dessert, we ordered the peanut butter pie and Bourbon bread pudding both quite good. We befriended one of the waitresses, who was more than willing to share recommendations and enthusiasm. Would return.

Awful experience! We found this little place because of burger week! Definitely not a good experience at all we walk in and not to terribly busy help the boy seating us separate the tables from one long table to two short tables. The waitress comes over we tell her we found this place because of burger week. She was oh ok well the burger only is $7.99 thought it was supposed to be $7 but whatever most places I’ve ever been fries coke with a meal. There was a separate charge for those. So we order with no mayo and no onions! She tells us 20-30 minutes no biggie. Within 10 minutes it comes out. My husbands is right mine is wrong. I have onion and a ton of them. So I wait and wait she never comes back to check on us finally we wave her down. Mind you it isn’t a very big place and our first time. So she comes over and I ask for another bun and lettuce and tomato I tell her it’s wrong!! Instead of fixing the whole burger she bring me the cold bun top only and the lettuce and tomato. I then pry it apart with my hands because we have no silverware. And of course no napkin! My husband goes to search for a napkin we’re ge gets attitude from the bartender!! We then finish what we do have and ask for the bill and are still charged full price for me remaking my burger at the table. I would give this place a low 2 even on a good day. Will not be back super disappointed!!!!...

This was my first and LAST time visiting this restaurant. I visited during Burger Week when most restaurants participating like to put their BEST foot and food forward. Not the case here. First off, the burgers were cool to the touch. I said something to one of the employees walking around and was told that all the burgers were cooked earlier that day in preparation for and anticipation of a large crowd, ...so as to not overwhelm the kitchen during the peak times. Really? You are inviting guests in to show them how great your food and service are then, serve them a burger thats been sitting in or under a warming bin or light, all day? Wow!

Second, I asked if I could have some extra pickles and onions. I was told NO, I was NOT ALLOWED to make alterations/changes. What kind of a place are they running?

Even with the Burger Week special and two sides, the bill was over twenty dollars. No thanks, I'll...
