The food is reasonable. However, management and customer service are questionable at best. To describe a recent experience we had, we recently ordered using the web site's online ordering feature. We called to follow up and the restaraunt staff claimed they could not see the order, so we ordered over the phone instead.
The next time we decided to simply order over the phone to begin with, so we logged onto the website to view the extensive menu and associated pricing. After adding up our order we called to place it and were told it would be ready in 20 minutes; we were not quoted a total price. Once we arrived to pick up the order, however, we were shocked to find that the cost was over 40 percent higher than what we were quoted on their web site. When I brought this up to the clerk, she simply dismissed the matter saying "Oh, yeah, that pricing is outdated and needs to be fixed." The total was not adjusted and we were offered no conciliatory discounts.
Needless to say we are not pleased with the way these two items were handled. Unfortunately for Jasmine, there are too many other similar establishments in the area. At least for a while, I seriously doubt we will be returning for a...
Read moreService was terrible. The waitress seemed incredibly numb and possibly even unhappy to see us- which I understand some days are hard days, but she was incredibly rude. We got potstickers as an appetizer, which were good. But I got the crispy duck, and it was a plate full of bones. I genuinely couldn't tell if I accidentally got the scraps or not. There was some meat on the bones, and the meat there was dull and flavorless, and it came with a sauce that was just overpowering. The fried rice was incredibly mid, it was just... Fried rice. No veggies, no egg, nothing. Just greasy, slightly browned rice. I had a bite of my father's broccoli, which looked vibrant green and incredibly appetizing. To my unfortunate surprise, it tasted and felt like it was covered in dirt. I was incredibly disappointed. When the waitress asked if I liked the food, I informed her there were a ton of bones. She just shruged with an "oh well" sort of vibe. It felt insultingly bad. I'd give it zero stars, but I don't know how. I'm just really...
Read moreBest Szechuan Chinese in Louisville. Period. (If you typically order things like Sesame Chicken or Sweet And Sour Pork....then you won't like this place as that would be similar to going to KFC and trying to order a Hamburger. Its Szechuan cooking...not Cantonese, Hunan, etc.)
Stick to the spicy/strong flavored dishes - and you will agree this is the best Szechuan Chinese restaurant in Louisville.
And ideally: don't order it to go. Ordering it to go, allows the fried food items like Sesame chicken (which you shouldn't be ordering here anyway) to steam and become soggy. This isn't the restaurant's fault. Its typical of any fried food that is gotten to go. (Who hasn't gotten a fried fish box to go from a restaurant, that didn't arrive soggy after 30 minutes?)
Some excellent dishes are Black Pepper Chicken (cooked extra long so the sauce is thick), Hot & Spicy Beef (or Lobster), Spicy Little Fish, Pickle Fish, and Tea Smoked Duck.
Highly...
