We went to El Tarasco with a group of twelve about 5:30 on a Wednesday evening.
We had made reservations and they were ready for us when we arrived.
Service and food quality were mostly satisfactory, and unremarkable but I was dissappointed with my entree.
I ordered the shrimp cocktail, which is usually different in Mexican cuisine than the usual American version. In other local Mexican restaurants this is customarily served as a cold spicy soup-like dish containing avacado, celantro, whole peeled shrimp and diced vegetables in a piquant tomato base. The dish is usually generous enough to be served as an entree and is eaten with a spoon like a soup.
When my order was served it appeared as expected, but the flavor and consistency was different than the shrimp cocktail served by other local Mexican restaurants, and rather disappointing.

We also ordered a pollo empanizado which is typically a pounded chicken breast breaded and fried. We got something that looked like a piece of sautéed chicken that got some type of bread crumbs sprinkled on it while in a sauce pan. So not only were we mislead it was flavorless.
Good luck here, there are simply too many options available...
