We were excited to try this place, my husbands co workers raved about the one in the Highlands.
First the service: We walked in and we're told to sit anywhere. Our server promptly brought drinks and took our order a few minutes later. 45 minutes later my husband asked if she could check our order. She told us we had 3 orders with poached eggs and there were people ahead of us with pancakes so it takes awhile. She had a bit of an attitude and then told us "just so you know". From the get go I felt she had an attitude but we know wait staff have a tough job and I work retail so I know people can be a pain. We are not that type of customer. When our food came out my husband even tried to make her laugh by asking if she wanted a bite. She seemed to lighten up a bit until we got our check. My husband passed her his card and said "Here you go kiddo". Apparently this offended her. When she came back to the table she asked "did you call me kiddo?" He said oh I'm sorry, I call everyone that. She said "I was just checking". So much attitude. I get maybe she doesn't like her job or is just having a bad day, but we did nothing to warrant being treated like we were putting her out, especially after waiting 45 minutes.
The food: This is why we gave it 1 star. We all had eggs Benidict. Our poached eggs looked like they started as poached but were obviously moved to a pan and fried. The bottoms were brown like a fried egg and the yokes were completely cooked. The Canadian bacon and so tough you would have needed a steak knife to cut it. The English muffins were soggy, my mother mentioned she'd never seen hollandiase sauce so thin. I'm sure that's why the English muffins were soggy. Mom had a side of grits and my husband and I ordered potatoes. The potatoes were rubbery and were drowning in butter or grease (whatever they were cooked in). There was so much liquid I joked it was more like potatoe soup.
The coffee was excellent and the restaurant...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant for breakfast and was thoroughly impressed with both the food and the friendly staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and welcoming smiles from the staff, who made sure I felt comfortable and taken care of throughout my meal.
The breakfast menu was extensive, with a variety of options to choose from, including classic dishes like eggs Benedict, pancake stacks, and oatmeal, as well as more unique offerings like breakfast burritos and avocado toast. I decided to try the eggs Benedict, and I was blown away by the flavors and quality of the dish. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the ham was juicy and flavorful, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. It was definitely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time.
But the highlight of my experience was definitely the friendly staff. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and always had a smile on their faces. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, and their positive energy really added to the overall experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. Whether you're a local resident or just passing through, be sure to stop by and experience this fantastic breakfast for yourself!...

First time eating here & there's a lot of very unique ingredient combinations on the menu that sound amazing but it doesn't hit the mark w/ taste. The food in all honestly was just bland.
Items ordered: Tomato Basil Omlette w/ Feta Cheese & a side order of Grits. Omlette was slightly overcooked but was loaded w/ tomatoes that tasted a bit under ripe...& without the feta cheese to give it some actual flavor it was really basic. The grits were not even worth mentioning & would be comparable w/ eating shreeded cardboard.
The Dutch Apple Pie Waffle contained only a few small cubes that resembled cinnamon apple but no real flavor of either & had been drowned in whip cream that saturated the gridiron cake.
Also ordered was a half order of Bacon (2 slices @ $3) that had good flavor but barely compared to one piece on tiny child's menu order.
And where does it cost $3.29 for a small cup of Iced Tea ?!?
For the most part all the meal prices on the menu seem reasonable & the restaurant itself has a quaint & happy little atmosphere. I wish I had taken a few pictures for reference in my review but didn't expect it to go this way.
In summary I always like to give a restaurant at least another chance because we can all have off days,..but would I eat here again ? Maybe I'll try their other...
