It is now 8:03 pm. i JUST saw someone mention Cinco de Mayo. I am revising my star count from one to three, because it was a holiday and I realize that it made some difference to the events, but I am leaving the review as written. They should have had more people come in for the holiday to help. I also felt the guy who was running the orders was very nice when he could have been less so.
5:35 pm. As of right now I have no idea what the food is going to taste like. 8 weeks into curbside and I decided to try Taco Luchador. literally around the corner from work. I ordered at approximately 3:30 pm. Toast app said ready by 4:15, but I don't get off til 5 so I called to tell them that I had accidentally ordered too early and I would pick up at 5. The person sounded exasperated when he asked my name (understandably), said ok and hung up on me. When I got to the restaurant to pick up at 5:01(by my car clock), a very nice female answered the phone and said it would be out as soon as it was ready. That was 38 minutes ago by my clock. I try to be understanding, I really do, but this is excessive. It would be different of I had ordered when I got here.
Edited to add: The food, though very cold, was good. I tried to call again several times to find out why other cars arrived and left with their food after I arrived. It was busy. I redialed a LOT and never got through. Even though I had been told not to come in the building, because my food would be brought to the car, I walked to the front where there was a pretty large crowd trying to stay 6 ft apart. I went back to my car. I had only seen 2 different guys running food out to cars. Around 5:45 I finally got out of my car to go back to the front of the building. On the way there, an employee had just finished delivering food to a car, and I asked if he knew why I hadn't received my food, even though I had ordered it so far ahead and had been waiting since 5. He simply looked shocked and tired, and asked if my name was Karen (I had not given it to him) and when I said yes, he said, "It's ready, I'll bring it right out." I appreciate that they were crazy busy, but it seems that the nice female person never told any of the runners that I was waiting. He seemed surprised that I had been waiting for it. I would also like to say that I tip pretty well (at least 20% for carryout because people are hurting), and I ordered out because I want to support the businesses. I am really disappointed though, because this isn't the first 3 or 4 weeks of curbside, this is week 8. It was very cold. It tasted pretty good. The tortilla chips and guac were good. I wish them well, but I...
Read moreThe food here is so tasty. Unfortunately, there service leaves something to be desired. I definitely would not recommend going here if you are in a rush. The first visit, we thought it was just a fluke. We had to wait 45 minutes for our carry-out order to be ready. The restaurant was not even super busy. The woman in front of us, who was also waiting for her order, was so fed up she walked out without her food and without a refund. We waited it out but were a little frustrated. There wasnt really an explanation why this was the situation.
The second time we visited, one member of our party didnt get his meal when the rest of the food came out. We told the worker that we were missing it and he said "its coming." We waited and waited. We asked the man again about the missing food. He said he would check on it. He was not apologetic or urgent at all. Still nothing. We asked a THIRD time...he went to check on it again. Waited. Finally, after the rest of out group had already finished all of our food, the missing taco arrived.
It seems there are some service issues that need to be worked out. And as others have said, the restaurant it small and the area to queue up is tiny. This can be uncomfortable on a busy evening. They do have delicious and interesting food though...
Edit: I have changed my rating to 4 stars. We have been back since these incidents and have had better service. The food is still crazy good and keeps...
Read moreI have been a very regular customer for over 5 years. The flavors are amazing, the quality is superior and i will continue to come cus they're just excellent. I even worked for the company some time ago and the managers and GM are just the best! There is just one tiny thing tho that is bugging me as a customer who calls there all the time, i wish they buy some Caller ID phones because they are the only one who ask for your phone number every single time you call. Everywhere else you give ur name and thats it. Here you have to give both ur name and ur phone number every single time you call to make a to go order and to me is just annoying. Maybe the only reason this bothers me is just because i call a lot but i really wish they would eventually change the way the do this because really, is annoying. Yesterday when i gave all my info and ordered they where out of what i order so it was even more annoying to give all that info for nothing cus i didnt order anything else, i wanted that specific item. Just buy some Caller ID phone guys, is simple! If somebody wont pick up their order, having their phone number wont make them come anyways, they just wont answer their phones when u call them lol is just unecesary. Sorry, no hate, i will continue to come but that really annoys me, hopefully they...
