Louisville Pizza King — Restaurant in Louisville

Being the pizza connoisseur that I am I figured that I would give it a try. The guy that took my order wasn't friendly over the phone once I got in the store you would have thought that I screwed his wife if looks could kill. I was told that it would be 30 minutes before my pizza would be done arrived in 40mins and still had to wait . I asked the mean bald-headed guy that's the cashier how long would it be never got in accurate time he only stated that it was being cooked now lol. I waited in the store for approximately 15 minutes once my pizza was finally finished, and hand it to me in the box the cook said hey bro I accidentally put bacon on your pizza is that okay as if I didn't order no bacon for a reason. While I was waiting it should have been bought to my attention that bacon was accidentally put on my pizza. It was very shady how they would have me wait all of that time while being observed uncomfortably by the cashier up and down and tell me that I have bacon on my pizza as they're handing it to me way past the 30 minute mark they told me it would be ready.... The owners are Indian/Asian I don't believe that their heart is in the pizza making business it's about a quick dollar for them as you can tell by the menu which has numerous items so I find it hard to believe that anything is absolutely good because with so many different menu items how can you specialize in something like pizza which is in the name of the restaurant. I doubt that they will be around for a long time using cheap below industry standard ingredients to make pizza LOUISVILLE STYLE... First off, let me make it clear the food here is A-1. Easily some of the best pizza in Louisville, and the wings are also near-perfect. You will not be disappointed in the quality of the food here.

However - and I want to stress that the workers here are doing their best and this is not their fault - the customer experience is extremely mediocre. I tried calling in an order, but the phone went straight to voicemail. So I ordered online only to find that the $30 XL pizza + wings combo I wanted wasn't available and I ended up paying $10 more for the same items.

Additionally, I was told when I ordered that it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, only to find that there's a glitch that results in online orders not coming through until you inform the person behind the counter. At that point you'll wait another 15-20 minutes for your food. And this wasn't just me: At least one other person there when I was there went through the same thing.

The lot where Pizza King is located is also extremely small and getting out requires backing out onto a busy road, with no stop sign or signal. I highly recommend being very careful if you're picking up your food for a to-go order as getting out of the lot requires timing and precision.

Great pizza, but the overall...

This place restored my faith in pizza. Louisville is not the best city for pizza, so I kinda just gave up and decided I didn’t like pizza anymore. Yo. Louisville Pizza King is the hidden gem. We got the white pizza and it blew my mind. The crust was perfect. Nothing like it in the city. It’s light and airy, and perfectly crispy on the edge. I can’t wait to try it again to see what the sauce is like.

We also got an order of fried mushrooms and they were packaged in a way that kept them hot, but didn’t let them steam and get soggy. So good!!

This place is tiny, and like someone else said, very limited parking, but if you order online for pickup, it shouldn’t be a problem. So good, and so excited to actually like...
