If I could give one quarter of a star, I would. This place was just awful. I saw most of the reviews were very good before my family ate here, and we have been looking for a good Mediterranean restaurant in the area. When we got there, it looked nothing like the photos. More like a café setting and the food was set out like a food court restaurant. We waited a while for our drinks, and everyone enjoyed theirs, the coffee was okay. But my coca cola tasted like the inside of a dirty dishwasher. And that was just the beginning. We ordered the hummus plate, which was okay, if not a little flavorless and came with no vegetables. With our meals, we ordered the Babaganoush, which was babaga-BURNT even though it was served cold with yet more pita bread. Our entrees came and none of us got what we ordered, it looked as though we were given someone else's food. This after our waitress placed the plates on someone else's table first, which is very unsanitary. The receipt did not mirror our meal either. My fiancé ordered the gyro and it came de-constructed, dry, and flavorless. The lamb tasted old and was overcooked and rubbery. My chicken was dry, and the beef kebab was little more than a hamburger on a stick, and very chewy. This place is, in my opinion, classified as mall food at best, and is in no way considered to be authentic. We will absolutely not return to this establishment. And the bill was about $70.00. I regret spending my money on this place. They also need to update their menu. My eldest son ordered the brown soup which was listed under "soups" on the menu, to be told they had never had brown soup before since the opening of the restaurant. There were three soups listed and we were informed that they had only ever had lentil soup, which my son did order but never received. Instead he received the beef kebab entrée, which he did not order. I can not tell you how utterly...
Read moreSometimes you read a reviews of a restaurant and you don’t know which side of the fence to fall on ! This place has many good reviews and several negative reviews . I decided to try it as I love Mediterranean food and keep searching for the best Louisville has to offer . Unfortunately I should of stopped searching before finding this location .
Restaurant building is fine but service and food was poorly executed!
Why do restaurants insist on bringing every course out at once ?
Needless to say we get soup and appetizer and meal served at once !
The real issue for me was the flavors of everything !
The hummus look decent but lacked seasoning that even the most basic hummus has.
It’s a shame as with seasoning it would of had potential!
The meals of chicken shawarma and gyro were subpar at best . Again.... little to no flavors or seasoning !
The chicken was chopped up into what looked like cat food ! For 9.99 the portion wasn’t plentiful, and certainly didn’t taste good!
Gyro meat was stingy at best and tasted dried out !
Overall the food was not even worthy of a mention and I’m not sure how people review it at 4-5 stars unless they have never had authentic Mediterranean food!
A gentleman that appeared to be the owner would occasionally yell at the poor girl working as the waitress!
The server was fine , but when we left not even a smile or thanks for coming was given by this gentleman ! Maybe he should spend more time improving the food and flavors and less time making a scene with his staff .
Definitely better option in this city and not a place we will ever...
Read moreI live nearby, so I've been here many times. You may get friendly service one day, and terrible service the next. You will probably never see the same server twice though, as they constantly cycle through employees & there is always a "Now Hiring!" sign out front. The food is like the service, subject to change depending on the day. My biggest complaint, though, is the owner - he is horribly rude. He has literally huffed at me while ordering on the phone. I guess I was taking up too much of his time patronizing his business. He is constantly changing the menu without actually reprinting the menu - increasing prices and removing options. For example, I came here about a month ago & purchased an entree I've gotten many times. I receive the food and the rice & side salad are missing. I go back in and ask about it. The rice was an honest mistake, but he tells me the entree no longer comes with a salad, even as I point to the menu sitting on the counter which clearly states that it does. That's just misleading, if you ask me. There are too many good restaurants in Louisville for anyone to give money to someone that conducts business that way. Try Sam's Gyros in Central Station if you're looking for Middle Eastern food nearby, or the Grape Leaf on Frankfort Avenue if you're looking for something a little...
