I had never heard of this restaurant until a family member from out of state sent me a link as a suggestion to cater our grandson’s first birthday party. We were expecting 80 people (adults and children) - he is a miracle baby and this was a big celebration! We wanted to make sure there was enough food that both adults and children would enjoy. Paula was so patient and gracious to us as we went back and forth about what we wanted, even changing the menu at the last minute. She was also extremely helpful and gave us the perfect suggestions for a crowd our size, with something for everyone. She even made a low sodium option for my husband who is on a renal diet. We ended up with two pasta dishes and two kinds of panini sliders, with garlic bread bites and a complimentary tray of cookies. Everything was incredibly delicious, and we had tons of food! Everyone raved about it and commented it was like food at a wedding reception. The panini sliders were a huge hit! This is not your typical Italian food - it is high quality cuisine, and you can tell it is ā€œmade with loveā€ as my husband says - and very reasonably priced especially for the quality. Lastly, Paula’s husband, Anthony, delivered the meal all the way to Bernheim Forest where we had the event. We were running behind and it was so chaotic when he got there - but he was so gracious and helpful, and even brought a birthday gift Paula had gotten for our grandson! Our entire experience with them was wonderful. They served us well, and we’ll definitely go back. They are busy, so if you don’t get a call back, be patient - it will be well worth the wait!

I was so excited to finally try this place. My wife and I live about 25 miles away in Shepherdsville. We looked at their website and had to wait until 1:00 PM to place the order. I called and read the order off the website . We ordered three of the 6 Meatballs with marinara and garlic bread We figured we make some pasta so when i got home we had a complete meal. When I got home there was NO bread. My wife called and they simply told my wife sorry the website is wrong. WHY DIDNT YOU TELL US THAT WHEN WE ORDER OFF THE WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!! aLSO TE MARINARA IS LIKE A QUARTER CUP FOR SIX MEATBALLS. mAKE SURE YOU FIGURE THAT IN WHEN ORDERING AS WE DID NOT.

The Black Italian catered out staff appreciation meal and we could not be happier with the outcome. First off, Paula was extremely easy to work with and highly responsive. She will help you plan the perfect meal. Obviously with social distancing there are some challenges to providing a workplace meal, but the Black Italian came through with individually packaged meals to help us keep our staff safe. Now for the food- OMG the food! We ordered the pasta in hearty marinara with grilled meatballs and the Creamy Garlic Formaggio Pasta with Grilled Chicken. Just by the smell of the food you know it is going to be delicious. The portions are generous, many of of staff members could not finish everything. The marinara tasty so fresh and the flavor of the grilled meatballs were the perfect compliment. The creamy garlic formaggio and grilled chicken dish were definitely a fan favorite. The sauce was so rich and creamy. It coated the pasta perfectly and again the grilled chicken adds a flavor you won't get anywhere else. After tasting their food we had several staff members say they would be taking there family there now that they know about this place. This is a fantastic, family run local business. You need to check them out- you will not be disappointed. Thank you Paula and Anthony for all the love you put into your food and making our staff appreciation meal a...

At The Black Italian you get EXEMPLARY!!! EXEMPLARY service, EXEMPLARY food & EXEMPLARY people! I love EVERYTHING Paula & Anthony have on the menu. They seriously never miss a beat when it comes to satisfying your tastes bud and your tummy!! If I could eat dinner from the Black Italian every single day, I probably would. Recently, I had my sisters baby shower catered and the pizza sliders and chicken formaggio were an absolute hit!!! Everyone at the party could not get over how flavorful and delicious they were!!! (My brothers best friend literally couldn't stop thinking about it & wrote me days later wanting to know how he could get the chicken formaggio again!) Paula and Anthony are such amazing people and so is their business and I could never give them enough praise! Please do yourselves a flavor and give The Black Italian a chance, I promise you will not be...
