I don’t want to argue about your rules, as a mother it makes sense and this is somewhere I’d want to take my daughter if we had a night out with her. What I’m arguing is that your rules are not clearly stated or communicated.
So, I’m disappointed in your alls defensive response. Instead of being defensive in your response to a customer who truly was apologetic, I urge you to take the feedback and improve communication of the rules. I hope you all can take constructive feedback and continue to grow into one of the most loveliest places to stay in Louisville.*
Loved the hotel itself, it was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Rosewood Suite and it was perfect for a couple/weekend getaway.
Parking is hard since Bardstown Road is always so busy, especially on the weekends. But we were still able to find close spots.
We are locals and the location is truly perfect! You are in walking distance from so many shops, restaurants and more.
I gave 3 stars for service due to a couple issues. Leading up to our stay, service was impeccable, they were flexible with us in having to change our staycation dates due to our daughter being sick. But, we didn’t receive code information for our changed weekend stay. I had to reach out for that information. They were super responsive and got back to me quickly but I felt like it was one more task I needed to do while preparing everything else to get us out of the house.
My biggest complaint with the service was the rules that we weren’t aware of but felt chastised about once we became aware that we were breaking them. I am someone that does take rules seriously, I would never break them intentionally. Since we had a one night staycation we had our friends back to the lounge area for a cocktail after we finished our birthday dinner. It was 4 couples and we all kept it pretty quiet but were having great conversations. We lost track of time and the next thing we know a manager was standing in the lounge area telling us we were breaking rules that were clearly stated in the lounge. The problem with that was they were NOT clearly stated in the lounge (or anywhere beforehand). It was on a 8x11 sign with lots of other words put in the corner where we didn’t even notice it. Again, it felt like we were chastised and being “yelled”.
Once we returned to our room, I looked at my phone and I had received multiple messages from the staff saying we needed to exit the lounge. There was also a message that read:
“Your reservation is for two guests. The rest of your group needs to vacate the property now. We do not allow visitors or for guests to host gatherings in their rooms. Failure to follow our policies will result in your reservation being cancelled and your eviction from the property.”
This was also another rule that was not expressed to us beforehand. Communication of these rules would have been appreciated beforehand and a better form of communication rather than just text messages would be nice. Not everyone has their phones...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to stay at the Bellweather Hotel following its impressive renovation. The transformation from a dilapidated building into a stylish, boutique hotel is nothing short of commendable. The result is an Airbnb-type experience with a charming common area that exudes a quaint yet trendy vibe, with tasteful decorations and comfortable seating.
However, our overall experience was marred by a few issues that could have been easily avoided. Despite the chic ambiance, we encountered several bugs in our room during our stay - one in the bed and another on the towels. Although I documented this with photos, I will refrain from posting them so as not to deter potential visitors.
Another aspect that could use some improvement is their communication system. After making my payment, I received a confirmation text message with a link with additional info for our stay. Seeing that this was the established method of comm, I was expecting another closer to our visit date with the ID confirmation. However, no such message was received and it wasn't until the day of our stay that I found it as an email confirming our reservation. A simple text or call from the hotel would have been more reassuring and made more sense.
Our check-in process also left much to be desired. The access code provided to us initially didn't work, leading to several futile attempts and back-and-forth emailing with hotel staff who insisted it was correct. Eventually, we went to dinner instead of continuing to troubleshoot and they issued us an alternate code which thankfully worked upon our return.
Also, if not otherwise known, the street the bellweather is on is quite lively.
In conclusion, while the Bellweather Hotel has done an admirable job in renovating its premises and creating an appealing aesthetic, there are still areas where their service falls short - most notably cleanliness and communication. These issues did affect our overall experience but does not negate the potential this boutique hotel has if these concerns are addressed promptly and...
