Bungalou Stay & Play — Hotel in Louisville

LOCATION: it's located on the main street. So, it is close to bars, restaurants, and activities. I love the location because we just walked, especially when drinking, you don't need to drive.

SAFETY: Everything needs a code to come in. I felt safe because of that. We didn't need to worry about people coming in the place if they were not staying there and our room.

ROOMS: We reserved the Jungaloo Suite around July. My 1st impression was that the place was decorated in theme (jungle theme). I was impressed, especially with the price. One bathroom is smaller than the other, and it has a sliding door that doesn't lock. The living room was spacious. The kitchen is fully equipment on everything you need to cook and clean. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. The couch in the living room was huge and comfy. I could sleep on there. They have plenty of blankets, too.

PLACE: I love that they have gaming area outside where you can hang out and play games. But they do have "quiet times" where they don't allow you to be there after a certain time. To access our suite, we did have to use stairs. There is no elevator. The bar downstairs is more upscale. It was small and not plenty of seats. The bourbon store was also upscale and expensive.

PARKING: It is included in the reservation, and they have plenty. They do have signs warning guests to not leave valuables in the car. I guess the neighborhood had problems with people broking in the car. We didn't experience this, and they do have cameras.

PRICE: Compared to nearby hotels and airbnb, this place is the cheapest. Even though it's cheap, it has a luxurious feeling to it.

CLEANLINESS: The place was clean when we came in. They do have staff that clean the gaming area outside.

CHECKINGOUT: The rules to checking out are easy to follow. They don't require a lot. They also have an app that gives you all the details about the place.

OVERALL: Clean. Spacious. Cool. Price...

Bungalou was an incredible experience for our group! The design itself is modern with all the perfect touches representing the local charm. We felt completely submersed in the upbeat and welcoming energy that the surrounding neighborhood provided. It was lively with plenty of options for restaurants and bars that we took full advantage of. We had the option to rent out the entire property this year for the Kentucky Derby which allowed us to be as loud as we wanted without disturbing anyone but also granted us a level of privacy that you just can’t quite achieve in a hotel environment. The speakeasy access to NEAT bourbon bar is such a nice touch. We were very impressed with how accommodating the bar staff were to us and quickly made friends with everyone! The weather was a bit drizzly during the majority our stay this year so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the courtyard and games but there’s a covered gazebo and fire pit that provided a sheltered place for a cocktail and the upstairs garage door for indoor/outdoor space in one of the units was perfect! Above and beyond the impressive entertainment was the staff. Everyone I worked with to arrange our trip went out of their way entirely to make sure we had a great time. We had some not so normal requests of a standard AirBnB property and they were met with enthusiasm. This was by far our best AirBnB experience to date and it will be hard to ever top it! We loved it so much we booked our next stay shortly after we left. Looking forward to coming back to Kentucky and staying again with you...

Bungalou is an amazing place to stay! There were plenty of games and fun to go around. My girlfriend and I loved the room and its cleanliness. During our stay, it was quiet and no one else was around to play games which is fine as I love my peace and quiet. But I wanted to switch things up and have some fun.

So I'm sure that my quiet experience is most likely not standard. The NEAT Bar was closed at the time and it was cold outside. I'm sure if you were to come to this place when it's warm and the NEAT Bar opens up again, you'll have a lively time.

I would say that if you and your friends want to have a fun time and enjoy other people's company, you have got to come here! Once it warms up, I would highly recommend coming here if you would like a clean, fun place to hang out and feel relaxed.
