Sunday nights are all about movies, chill vibes, and prepping for the week ahead. So we decided to wrap up the weekend with a little treat — something new, something different. After scrolling through a few local spots, we landed on Happy China, thanks to the solid reviews and a menu that had us feeling like kids in a candy store.
Big win? They had Mei Fun noodles — a rare gem around here — so that instantly caught our eye.
We DoorDashed an order that included:
• Shrimp Egg Foo Young • Shrimp Fried Rice • Beef Mei Fun • Honey Chicken • Wonton Egg Drop Soup
Let’s get into it P & C’s:
PROS: • Portion size? Generous. We were definitely not shorted. • Presentation? Beautifully packed, looked fresh, smelled amazing. • Temperature? Everything came in hot and steamy. That alone got points.
CONS: • Flavor? Honestly… this was the biggest letdown. Everything was just bland. No seasoning, no balance — like somebody cooked it while on a salt-free diet. • Custom requests? Missed. No eggs in the fried rice, and no bean sprouts in the noodles (even though my husband asked). They did scribble a note on the back of the receipt saying, “Sorry, we’re out of bean sprouts today,” which I can appreciate — but still, it took away from the experience.
⸻ Overall, Happy China gave quantity, not quality.Would we try them again? Maybe. But only if we’re in a pinch and feeling hopeful they were just having an off day in the flavor department.

3/5 stars — potential is there, but the flavor gotta show...
Read moreCustomer service was lacking. Ordered food and as we waited, tried the soda machine, some of the options didn't have syrup. Let them know, they didn't care. Employee started cleaning up and sweeping around us. When my order was ready, they were very stingy with soy sauce. When we took the food home and tasted it 😑. We ordered general tso chicken, chicken fried rice and shrimp fried rice with chicken egg rolls. My mother asked for the general tso chicken to be mild, I asked for spicy. Both tasted the same and was a flavorless mild mess. The shrimp fried rice was tasteless as well. The shrimp was boiled. The onions were halfway cooked. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was boiled as well. No peas, no egg, no carrots. Boring tasteless fried rice. The egg rolls had a weird taste due to the seasoning of the cabbage inside. Overall I wouldn't go back or recommend that...
Read more2nd time I ordered from here it was a busy Friday night. (During the holidays as well). My wife called and told them our order was wrong and the lady at the front said please bring back we're sorry we'll make what you ordered. Not only that but they let me have the previous dish that was wrong for my wife but I thought it was absolutely the best! And they gave me a free drink. The food reminds me of home back in r.i. it's so hard to find a place that makes fried rice that I'm used too. Not white rice with little soy that's all over georgia lol. Js. Went back tonight and the woman at the front who takes orders and works register remembered me! A must go. As long as I live here they will be place i go for chinese food. More than the food, the hospitality and customer service...
