2024 July A local institution, Loveland Dairy Whip is your summer soft serve destination. While the product is good, and the service homey, the price you pay comes without much more than the soft serve. If you stay, you dine in a parking lot. There is very limited parking. Vehicle access is tough as it's close to an intersection at the bottom of a hill on a curved road. This is a small seasonal business, so be patient with service, especially at the beginning of the season. It's cash only, so don't forget to crack open your kids piggy bank (who even carries cash these days?). And the prices are... OK, but not inexpensive. BTW: there's a sign on the window that the current owners are ready to sell and retire. Any budding entrepreneurs out there?

Nice little ice cream place with a typical small town feel. They have cones, sunades, and parfaits, and the staff are friendly. We ordered a hot caramel cake (without whipped cream), and it was delicious - with the soft and creamy icecream slowly melting over a slice of warm cake, all topped with sauce. We also had a regular chocolate cone, which was smooth and creamy, but felt it could have been a little more 'chocolatier' :) They have picnic tables all around, where you can sit and eat the icecream, and also have a drive-through window if you want to order from the car.

The ice cream here is delicious! The workers are always friendly and welcoming! Love this place. Great for a gathering after an event from school or sports! New visit 7/13/24 Ordered a strawberry milkshake. Delicious!! 3/28/25 - New visit! I found out a lot tonight! First off, there are new owners! I wonder if they will be onsite so the public can meet them! Then I learned the best thing - They take cards now, not just cash!! Long lines at both front windows and the drive-thru. Tells you a little bit about how great the ice cream here is!!!

Being that we love our favorite local seasonal whippy dip, we've go often. In the beginning with the new owners, it was great seeing them there, however since then, you rarely ever see an adult. It's usually just teens there. Most of the time they seemed bothered you're there and are not friendly. We've seen them standing around and loudly having inappropriate conversations and using foul language about the latest HS drama. Yesterday, we went for usual Sunday evening treats: a milkshake, chocolate in a cup with sprinkles and a small chocolate cone with sprinkles. We placed our order while in the drive thru line (love this). When I got to the window, there was nobody to be seen. The girl finally came to the window with all 3 things, hands me the very melted cone first saying "I'll give you this first since it's starting to melt". They clearly fixed the cone first and let it sit while they made the other items. Needless to say the cone was so melted and running down my hand/arm i had to toss it. With this plus the lack of adult presence, higher prices and never consistently with the servings, we'll be taking a break. I really hope the owner reads these and makes the right changes to keep us long time customers...

Unfortunately, i have to agree with some of the other recent reviews. While I love the ice cream here, it is poorly run. I frequently have orders that are incorrect. Just tonight, I again had a messed up order. Wrong ice cream flavor and wrong toppings. They weren’t busy and it wasn’t someone else’s order. Just not paying attention to what they are doing and too busy gossiping.

Also, as several other reviewers recently stated, they don’t consistently fill the cup or cone. Often the special sundaes are half the size of what is on display in the window.

Feels like they are rushing through things and making lots of mistakes. They are mostly high school kids so I cut them a break. And for the most part, they are friendly and try to correct the error. But r hey seem like this is more a social activity than a job. I don’t put this on the kids. The owners job should be to teach and support them to do their job with quality the first time.

It’s a shame. I like the ice cream and want to support local businesses. But I will be taking a break and hoping they can get things together. I hope the owners read these...

UPDATE: The owner responded saying 'no clue what I'm talking about' yet THERESA FLINT(OWNER) is the one whom this encounter happened with. So weird. 🤔 I remember the Dairy Whip when I was a child. It was the best place to go. Recently, my 7 year old niece wanted a waffle cone with the candy eyes but was refused that because they don't put toppings on the waffle cones? We figured okay maybe we can get them on the side but nope. One worker was even lectured for putting them on because neither of us knew it wasn't allowed at the time.. It is a childs ice cream... I am honestly just sad for my niece because she didn't understand nor did I as an adult. I would understand if it were some odd, inconvenient request but it was so simple.. I've always had great experiences so this was shocking then to berate an employee who clearly didn't know it was an issue either.. I don't know if it was just a bad day or what but I hope something can be figured out or atleast a sign being posted of what they...
