If you haven’t been to Mt Hope Porch, you’re missing out on something special. The whole place has that cozy backyard charm — string lights, a dartboard on the wall, and an easygoing vibe that makes you want to stay all night.

But what really sets this spot apart is the people. Our server, Nate, was absolutely fantastic — friendly, funny, and on top of everything. He made us feel like regulars from the moment we sat down. The guy could probably handle a packed house with a smile and still remember everyone’s order by heart.

And then there’s Chef Will, the man behind the masterpiece — the bean and ketchup sandwich. I know it sounds wild, but it’s seriously amazing. The beans are rich and hearty, the ketchup adds that perfect kick, and the toasted bread ties it all together in the most comforting way. Chef Will even came out to chat for a bit, and I found out he likes to be called the “GM.” Honestly, he’s earned it — the guy runs the kitchen like a well-oiled machine.

Between Nate’s five-star service and GM Will’s legendary sandwich, Mt Hope Porch isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Can’t...

The service here was incredible and all the staff were amazing incredibly kind. The waiters served with a smile and the chefs were unbelievable locked in. Although I had to wait over an hour for my food, what really mattered was the home-like atmosphere I was in. There was an endless amount of amazing conversations that kept the vibe high. When I got my Nater Bater Burger it was the best food I ever had. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who finds themselves visiting New England as it truly makes anyone...

The beans on toast are A1. Our waiter, Hal recommended them and for a town with a lot of bean history, the MTHP beans were tops. It’s obviously vegan-friendly too so bring your vegan and vegetarian friends! The ambiance was both rudimentary and a little stock photo-ish but they just opened! The waitstaff were accommodating to an almost cartoonish degree but it was also refreshing in this era of AI, impersonalization, and zero customer service. Give it a try. It’s truly...

Comforting atmosphere, great food, and just great cooking. My waiter, Landen who I have attached below, although friendly, left much to be desired in attentiveness and professionalism. The kitchen, however, more than made up for it, every dish came out flavorful, fresh, and clearly prepared with care. With a bit more consistency in service, this place would be a clear standout.
