Husband and I have been here twice ,the first visit because it's about 20ft. from our hotel, a very nice Hampton Inn on Ritter Rd. Most outstanding is the excellent service. I don't know why the place isn't filled with people cause the food is good! Our 1st visit we got the fish and chips , crispy , not greasy. Husband loved. Fresh crunchy pickles is their free appetizer. The soup was meh, but my "Mallard" sandwich was piled with meat as part of the soup and sandwich combo it's a small pretzel bun. A little pricey at 14.59 but worth it to not have to drive after having a few of their outstanding craft beers. And we had the flight of beers which was awesome. It's 20.00 for a flight of 4 small craft beers which we shared. What's not to Love? This time we ordered the Big Italian stone baked flat bread pizza. My husband asked to leave off the salsa(ingredients are Genoa salami, ham, bacon, provolone, parmesan and salsa) and give me extra bacon and they did for the same price! All the meats are delicious , crispy and tasty bacon! (which I am picky about, nothing worse than tasteless bacon). I highly recommend the pizza! For some reason it's not a choice for recommended...
Read moreThe Mallard was really good. The pricing was the same for diner style restaurants. Though I could have had a better value for money at Dad's Garage.
Monday night there was only one server, one cook (it's an open kitchen) and one busboy. We were told to wait to be seated but since they were understaffed it took forever to be seated. The "hostess" was doing the busboy/kitchen cleaning and was in no way welcoming at all. At least our waitress was friendly and did her best despite being the only server there. The atmosphere was bleak, the music barely audible, the interiors were ok for a diner style, yet the "paintings" at the wall look like they were old photocopies.
My s.o. had good memories of this place from 10 years ago and we went for the sake of it, but it was not as nice in this branch, I think.
If they can't afford a hostess, then just let people seat themselves. It felt more like I was eating at an Arby's. I really want restaurants in Mechanicsburg to do well, so Isaac's has to...
Read moreI've worked near this Isaac's and grabbed lunch here for 20 years a couple times per week. The last few months it has really gone downhill. The customer service here was always impeccable. Lately they've stopped saying Thank you they just throw you your bag to go zero courtesy during interactions. The manager is too busy berating people to even notice. Today the girl who rang me out was so bothered she had to wait on my food to be ready. She walked off. Eventually someone grabbed it and tried to have me pay again. They are now charging a 3% charge for credit card transactions and they stopped asking for your loyalty number. When you call in an order they tell you how long till its ready but lately its never ready by 15 mins at least. Just really sad to see the state of this place as I've loved it for so long for a...
