If you are looking for a very high quality Italian Market with locally sourced food you must try Penna's Italian Market. I have frequented this market several times and I have never been disappointed. I have enjoyed several of their hoagies, including a custom turkey, Penna's old fashioned Italian and the traditional Italian hoagie. They offer three sizes, and three types of rolls to suit your preference. The rolls are locally sourced, fresh everyday and of the highest quality. The meats and cheeses are first rate. Finally, the price point for a hoagie of this quality and size is beyond fair. I have also tried their meatballs. They ring with flavor, and along with the sauce allowed me to create a very enjoyable meatball sub. Did I tell you that Penna's also have fine rolls and two types of Italian breads. I used part of one of the breads to create my meatball sandwich and it was the best. I choose a long sesame seed loaf, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Wow, just fabulous. The bread is so good, I ate the remainder of the loaf with some high quality olive oil which you can buy at Penna's. If you are an aficionado of tomato pies you must try the one available at Penna's. Finally, the service is top-notch and you will often find the owner on site with member's of his family. Priceless. The inside is beautifully designed and includes fine meats and cheeses, prepared food, gelato and excellent pastry's and a lot more including an large bright area to eat. You will not be disappointed shopping at Penna's...
Read moreWe recently celebrated our daughter's fourth birthday at Penna's, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The room we rented was perfect for our gathering, with ample space for kids to play and adults to mingle. But what truly made the event special was Tammy, our event coordinator. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, from the layout of the room to the quality of the food.
Tammy's enthusiasm and creativity really shone through when it came to the presentation of the food. Instead of a basic spread, she created a visually stunning display that caught everyone's attention. The platters were meticulously arranged, and it was clear she had put a lot of thought into the details. What could have been a typical array of sandwiches and appetizers turned into a feast for the eyes.
The food itself was incredible. We had a mix of hot and cold sandwiches, along with antipasto and Caesar salads. Each dish was prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor. The sandwiches were a particular hit, with a variety of fillings that pleased both kids and adults alike.
Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food and the overall experience. It truly made our daughter's birthday party memorable. I would highly recommend Penna's for anyone planning a small event or even just wanting a delicious meal. The service is top-notch, and the staff genuinely cares about making your event special. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try—you won't be...
Read moreMaybe my expectations were set too high for this place. I was told that these were great hoagies but they're really mediocre. There wasn't any salt, pepper, oregano and I wasn't asked when I said I wanted the Old World italian loaded up - usually means everything on it and they said "okay" but it was not seasoned at all. The vinegar was added directly to the bread which made it sour and soggy, almost completely a waste. The meats were good. I was charged $20 for a bag of cookies and 2 bags of chips that I bought last minute while waiting for the hoagies already paid for. The entire time, the staff spoke to a resident who lives in those overpriced carriage homes and basically ignored me to the point that I'm not going to be a repeat customer. If they survive in business, I would assume it's solely based on residents and those who never tried it before. I could be wrong and maybe Sunday an hour before close is a bad time to visit. I just don't feel inclined to give it a second...
