So my husband and myself were actually on our somewhere else to grab a pizza when we were stopped by a train right up the road. I was looking up places nearby to have dinner and Carlucci's came up on my search. We had never been there before. I checked the menu and told my hubby to pull a youey (you turn) and go to Carlucci's which is right up the road. We had no idea it was an actual restaurant but thought it was more of a small dine in pizza type of place with entree dishes. We walked in and were greeted immediately by a gentleman who had us seated quite quickly. I didn't know they had half table half booth, so I asked for that instead of the table we were being taken to, and they accommodated me without an issue. I immediately felt very cozy and the memories of my grandmoms kitchen came to mind instantly. I hear the waiter talking to a group next to us in Italian. There is Italian music playing overhead. It was so inviting. The same waiter (Sal) came and asked if we were ready to order. I asked for his help as we had never been there, and so many items on the menu sounded absolutely amazing. He helped us choose between two. We chose the Siciliano. It came with the choice of soup or salad. My hubby picked a squash soup, which he really enjoyed. I got a simple salad with balsalmic. We were already brought bread with a marinara sauce on it, which was really tasty. When they brought the soup and salad, they then brought a round garlic bread type of bread with tons of (locatelli) type cheese and oil it was amazing. They brought out the entrées....OMG!!! It had the most tender chicken and a perfect al dente pasta. The mushrooms and olives paired together with the artichokes made such a great tasting mix of deliciousness! Our waiter was super attentive. Our drinks were filled on the spot when empty. The manager or owner came around several times to ask how everything was, which I really liked. On to dessert, we got the Tartufo, which I'd never had before. It was so decadent and tasted so darn good! I have NOTHING but great things to say from our walk in to our walkout. From beginning to end, we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. The food, staff, ambiance, cost ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING was spot on for us. We will most definitely be coming back!...

The antipasti selections very tasty. However, the fried artichokes were the stars on the plate. So sad that there were only two. The entire platter though could almost be a meal. For my entree, I ordered one of the specials. At $30, I was hoping it would taste as amazing as it sounded. A crab cake, two jumbo shrimp, two grilled scallops and a fried chicken breast accompanied with pasta pockets in a blush sauce. My mother ordered something similar in that it also had shrimp, crab and chicken. Our meals arrived and the waitress asked who ordered the Verona. I eagerly pointed to myself. I started eating and realized I received scalloped potatoes instead of scallops. The sauce was very lemony, crab was on top of the chicken instead of a crab cake and there were vegetables instead of pasta. Thought maybe I read the menu wrong. Meanwhile everyone was enjoying their meals. I decided to ask to see the menu again. Turns out I was right. My dinner had been switched with my mother's! However, she didn't have scallops on her dish. The waitress was willing to get us new dishes but we decided since we were still happy with the meal we would just leave it as is. I did ask for the missing scallops though because they were a big reason I wanted the meal. She brought them right away. All in all, everyone was thrilled with what they ate. Our waitress brought us our bill and it was only $45. No way that was right. Since I'm not a horrible person, I alerted the waitress she gave us the wrong bill. She brought us the correct one. $136. I had a coupon for $20 off but couldn't read the small print. I was told it wasn't valid on Saturday nights. I thought after screwing up our meal and me not trying to get away with paying the smaller bill, she could have honored the coupon for me. Bottom line...the restaurant is pricey, but the food is fabulous. Service was a bit lax, but nobody can be perfect all the time. In the future though, I will probably go to Mamma Mia's. The less expensive, just as fabulous,...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Carlucci's grill. We have been to Carlucci's Express (AMAZING) many times and love it. So we thought we would try dining in at the grill. The best thing about Carlucci's grill was our server Israel (he was polite and attentive through the whole meal and even brought us a complimentary garlic bread). We had chicken Palliard, and Chicken Parmesan (how can you go wrong with chicken parm right). I am almost certain that our chicken was either Frozen or pre-cooked and frozen. It was very dry and pounded thin. The Chicken Palliard was supposed to have garlic and olive oil with broccoli rabe and roasted peppers. There was absolutely no garlic and no flavor and the broccoli rabe was very fibrous). The lemon wedge was the only fresh ingredient. The Parmesan cheese topping was the dry powder sprinkled by the server. The chicken parmesan, also dry, came with a healthy serving of aldente box pasta, however barely any red sauce. They must have forgotten to completely drain the pasta because there was a lot of water on the plate. We did have to ask for some additional sauce because, the little that came with it was watered down possibly from the pasta. The chicken parm on both plates were tough and hard to chew. Sadly it seemed like everything was processed and not fresh. It was a little more than $100 for three people including the tip. Honestly I don't think we'll come back here, definitely back to...
