Miserable all around experience. I'm writing this review as soon as we got home in the hopes that it will deter anyone from eating there in the future. My wife and I were willing to give this restaurant a second chance even though we had been COMPLETELY ignored for more than 25 minutes after we were seated there the first time. We should have stuck with our gut feeling. This time around it took close to 20 minutes to get our drinks. Our waiter seemed to completely forget about us after this and left us both wondering if we shouldn't just pay for the drinks and leave. But since we were starving and had a toddler with us we decided to stay.
My burger, when it finally arrived, was completely raw-it looked as thought it had literally just been taken out of the package and slapped on the roll. The roll claimed to be a sourdough German bagel but tasted more like a stale piece of toast. Even though we both asked for waters we were only brought one (to share between us?). We were never given a kids menu so we thought we had to order something for our son from the regular menu, but as it turns out when we were ordering there is a kids menu that we were never offered. The kids mac and cheese was bland and pasty and had a raw flour taste to it that I still have in my mouth. My son wouldn't even touch it and he never turns down Mac and Cheese. Before leaving I mentioned the burger to our server. The manager, instead of apologizing, claimed that because the quality of the meat they used was "so high" they generally don't need to cook it all the way through. I explained that a rare burger is warm and pink on the inside as well as firm. I showed him the soft, cold doughy consistency that was in my burger and told him I should not be able to roll it into a little ball: that is the sign of RAW meat. He simply shrugged and said I should have sent it back to cook longer. We will NEVER go back...
Read moreMy Family and I had the worst experience eating out ever! There were 11 in our party for what we thought would be a wonderful Graduation lunch. We understood that there were many large parties there for the same reason, so we sat very patiently waiting to eat for an hour and 25 min(yes an hour and 25 min). When our food finally arrived my sons burger was charcoal, my mother didnt get the side order she ordered, my daughters boyfriend didnt get the side he ordered, my mother-in-law and daughter's (the grad) chicken was breading and hard as a rock. I never complain and I try to be understanding, but we had all had it! I told the waitress, Lauren, who was a sweetheart and kept apologizing (clearly it was the kitchen) said let me get my manager. The manager, Missy, handled this the worst way possible, as soon as i very kindly mentioned there was a problem she jumped down my throat and said "we are very busy" I asked her to give me a second and tell her the issues. After I explained she offered to give more fries to my daughters boyfriend and get my son another burger and not charge us for 2 burgers.....Really thanks for not charging me for the rock you served. She was very condescending and appeared to be annoyed by my justified complaints. When we received the bill she didn't charge us for the sodas, the chicken for my daughter and the burgers. Everyone was so disgusted! We will be sure NEVER to return or recommend this...
Read moreMy husband and I have been here at least five times now as part of our date nights. I like it here because you can either dress up or dress down. It is not a formal attire restaurant but sometimes it's just fun to do so.
We haven't had one bad experience yet. The waiters and waitresses have all been super friendly, patient, and accommodating when it comes to dietary restrictions. The portion sizes are more than enough. My husband and I typically order one entree and an appetizer and have never left feeling hungry. Our bill typically comes to 50 some dollars but that is including an alcoholic beverage. I find the prices to be acceptionally affordable; and this is coming from someone who is not currently working, so money is something we try to be careful with.
Last time we were here, there was live entertainment in their outside garden area. This woman sang and played guitar. I forgot what her name was but she was super sweet, trying to quickly learn this rather obscure song my husband requested.
If you live in the area or are just passing through, please consider supporting this 50 + year family owned business. The atmosphere is relaxing and you can tell that the servers enjoy their jobs. The menu has something for everyone. We love their French Onion Soup and potato skins. The fish & chips are amazing , as is their quiche. Still haven't tried any desert here but I...
