Yi's Boba — Restaurant in Lower Merion Township

Simple, but lovely in the details. I ordered hot tea, and in addition to the flavor I ordered, the lady who runs the store gave me a free sample of another kind to try. Because it was "for here", she gave it to me in a ceramic tea cup. My boyfriend had bubble tea, and we were pleased to find out that in addition to the usual tapioca bubbles, there were other tasty add-ins available that we actually liked better (free samples here, too!) There isn't much food on the menu yet, but what there is I can surmise is homemade-- to be tried next time. Never had Thai Rolled Ice Cream before but its a pretty involved process and was cool to watch. Why go to Thailand for the ice cream when its right here in Ardmore. I got cookies and cream with oreos and chocolate chips. My chocolate chips ended up being white chocolate but in my experience traveling there have always been small miscommunications and I ended up liking the experience even more. It made my wife and I feel like we were out and about traveling all over again. Its authentic and we appreciated that. The process requires smoothing, chopping and scraping off of an iced pan. Must try! I was at PA with my family and was craving Boba. The closest one, which I'd never heard of, was Yi's. My first impression was that it looked like a small, family-owned business, and I was hoping their taro Boba was going to taste good (because some places do not do the milk flavor, boba, and milk ratio justice).
