Agua bistro attempts to bring fine dining to Eagleville/lower providence, with mixed results.
The restaurant is located in an old house. When you enter you are in the dining room immediately. There is a 3’ by 4’ area inside the door where you wait to be seated. While in this area you are standing right next to the tables in that room. The tables are close together in this room and the back room. Picture 10 tables in your living room.
Service was generally excellent although there were a few hiccups. For instance we weren’t offered pepper or grated cheese for our entrees despite there being an oversized pepper grinder nearby.
The food was hit or miss. The main problem was the pricing. They are charging premium center city prices in Eagleville. We started with Wild Mushroom Soup ($11) and Mussels ($16). The soup was excellent but pricey. The mussels were good quality and a nice sized portion but the broth was bland. The signature burger ($21) was very good and the truffle fries were great. The pan seared salmon with cous cous was disappointing. At $39 the piece of salmon was significantly smaller than what other restaurants are serving for $10 less. The Fettuccini Alla Vodka ($35) was another expensive miss. The vodka sauce lacked zing. There were only 4 medium shrimp there and a minimal amount of crabmeat.
I suppose there aren’t many upscale restaurants in the Eagleville area, but you dining dollars would be better spent at a more moderately priced...

Last night, we celebrated my son’s 32nd birthday and my wife’s 60th birthday at Aqua Bistro, where the atmosphere was nothing short of enchanting. The warm glow of soft lighting illuminated polished wooden accents, complemented by tasteful floral arrangements and classic artwork, creating an inviting yet eloquent setting. The gentle hum of conversation mingled with soft jazz, fostering an intimate, celebratory vibe that perfectly suited our special occasion. The service was impeccable, with our server’s attentiveness and warmth elevating the evening. They offered thoughtful recommendations, kept our glasses filled, and surprised my son and wife with a Happy Birthday dessert plate, a delightful touch. The food was equally impressive, each dish bursting with flavor, from vibrant salads to perfectly cooked herb-crusted salmon and melt-in-the-mouth filet mignon. A shared chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream capped the night. Aqua Bistro delivered a memorable evening of top-notch service and tasteful cuisine, making it the ideal spot for our milestone...
