I will first acknowledge that the 1-star review is not related to the quality of the food. The food here is spectacular....when you actually receive it. I will also acknowledge that I understand that all restaurants are struggling to maintain adequate staffing levels, so I am sensitive to staffing issues. But, I am giving a 1-star review because the experience I had this past Friday with take-out was beyond the pale. I placed an expensive order for my entire family for takeout through UberEats with a scheduled pickup time for 6:15pm. It takes me about 30 minutes to drive to the restaurant, and knowing that the Biryani City has had staffing issues, I called before leaving my house to pickup the food to ensure it was on schedule. The gentleman answering the phones assured me that he had received the order and it would be ready for pickup at 6:15. When I arrived at 6:15, the order was not ready. 6:30, the order was not ready. 6:45, the order was not ready. At 6:45 the gentleman answering phones assured me they were working on my order, and that it would be ready soon. At 7:05pm, the order was still not ready. I asked the gentleman working the counter to tell me the truth and to state whether they had even started my order yet. He rudely answered "No, but you can cancel your order through UberEats if you'd like." No apology. No offer to make-up for completely wasting my entire evening after a long week of work (keep in mind, I had a 30 minute drive home ahead of me with no food). No apology for lying to me the entire time I was standing in their cramped lobby. No apology for the assurances he gave me before I even stepped out the door. Nothing. I ended-up driving back to my home and picking up a pizza. But, the real kicker is that the entire time I waited in the lobby thinking they were working on my order, he took another 20-30 orders over the the phone for pickup (and who knows how many additional orders over the deliver apps they work with). Now, I've read the responses to negative reviews written by the owner, and they constantly blame their issues on staffing hardship. I ask one question: If you know you have staffing issues and you are unable to fulfill orders as promised, why do you continue to greedily take all orders and place your existing staff under extreme duress? This is why nobody wants to work for you. Why do you blithely waste your clientele's time by completely underdelivering on your promises? I can forgive mistakes, but watching the gentleman working the phone greedily take order after order knowing that he would not be able to fulfill them in a timely fashion was the most disregard I've ever seen a restaurant show for its patrons. I will never return. If you want to waste a Friday night, order...
Read moreI visit this place often, but today was the worst food I ever had at this place. We ordered goat sukkah it was worst and then we ordered pepper chicken and it was similar to goat sukkah and they say different spices but finally they took them back and then later we ordered chicken 65 they just fried them in the oil with some coating on it. Parotta was good, and dum ka chicken was average. Even their biryani was not good today. Please try to make customers happy, and staff should know basic Indian spices how they taste and all. When I asked them about spices, they just said we ordered medium spice guys. You dont believe medium spice in their language is too spicy. This was my first bad experience from the past 2 years. Food taste and quality were not at all good. We told them clearly that food was not good. I dont want to blame staff here because we go here just for food. It depends on the chef.
Went here for a happy hour. Ordered 2 appetizers, one fish and chicken. Chicken was good, but fish came out worse. We were 3 members, and we all tasted it, and it was bad. Main chef, I don't know how he became chef he says we added different spices. That's why it smells bad. Fish is fresh, he says. Either try to replace that item and make customers happy instead of arguing. I thought arguing with that chef was a waste of time, and we ended up paying bills for that item.
Finally, We ordered basic food cut mirchi and pakoda.
Owners should make sure how they treat customers. This happened to me a second time. There is nothing wrong with replacing a dish when...
Read moreI’ve had their food delivered before and it was good. I decided to try dine in because I was out for the day. This was my first and last time buying their food. My first impression was to leave but then I thought to myself maybe this place is a hidden gem and give it a try.
The guy at the counter wasn’t friendly at all. For dining in you have to first scan the QR code and then place your order. He barely explained the process but I figured it out. After placing my order, I sat myself. I picked one of the few tables that accommodated a small party. It was dirty and had not been wiped down. I requested the guy at the front counter to wipe the table and he did but in the process sprayed my plate with cleaner. He seemed annoyed that I asked for a new plate.
I finally received my food after a 20-30 minute wait. I ordered crab pepper masala, was thinking of tikka masala. It was okay but their goat biryani and chicken TM was better. I enjoy their naan.
The atmosphere in my opinion is dim and lackluster. A lot of families and their kids which at times got loud. The guy who took my order also doubled as a waiter. I noticed he asked everyone but me were they enjoying their food. I was the ONLY non East Indian person dining and didn’t get a welcoming vibe.
I noticed all these random men were going in and out the kitchen which was sketchy. Some of them were waiters but wearing regular clothes and outerwear while serving food. I’d only/barely recommend this restaurant for delivery or takeout. The dine in...
