Ava's Ice Cream and Water Ice — Restaurant in Lower Providence Township

Ava's consistently has 5 stars on Google and Yelp for a reason. What a great local place that has such a great local vibe. If you live anywhere close to Collegeville (or not), you won't regret going to this awesome place. We just moved here a few months ago and have already been in many times. The "wooder" ice is amazing. Their homemade ice creams are ridiculously good too!! The flavors are unbelievably great! They also sell flavors made by Pott's ice cream too. But I think the gamechanger move that they just made recently, was adding kiddie sizes for the water ice and for the ice cream. All 3 sizes still give you generous portions respectively, but when you want a taste of their creations without feeling too guilty, it's nice to have such an option.

The flavors of water ice are true and perfectly match. The ice cream flavors are just unbelievable. We had the ice creams last night and tried the Apple Pie a la mode, Dark Rocky Road, Birthday Cake, and Butterfinger. The Apple pie was so good with actual apple and pie chunks and the apple flavors throughout were amazing. The Dark Rocky road was so decadent and if you love dark chocolate, you don't want to miss this one. The birthday cake ice cream was also excellent and will remind you of eating the top portion of an ice cream cake above the chocolate crumbs. And even the butterfinger ice cream was creamy and excellent.

Go support local businesses and you won't regret it. The "other" water ice place is good too, but they're everywhere. I'd say this place is way better and we get to have it all to ourselves in this local...

I normally end up at the major water ice chain up the street because it's convenient, but recently noticed this apparent gem tucked away, so today decided to give a small local store my business, and check them out. It was mid-day and very quiet, and there was only one person in front of me, evidently engrossed in the music in her earbuds. I assumed she had put her order in, and it was being prepared. I read all the flavors on the board which was quite entertaining, and was making my mouth water. I saw someone slowly spooning ice cream into a small dish, conversing with another person who was just standing around. I was definitely where at least one could see me. This went on for 5 minutes or more, much longer than necessary to dip one bowl of ice cream, and I was never acknowledged. I never got to know how great the delicious-sounding flavors are, because I didn't wait around any longer.

Update: Thank you for going to the effort of tracing the incident. I didn't want to step in front of the young woman, since I didn't know If she had ordered yet was waiting for her order, and talking to her didn't seem like a viable plan either. I did not notice anything designating an Order window or a Pickup window, with so many signs to rea, so I assumed they were both order windows. Since there were no workers at either window, it didn't seem to matter. I suppose a solution would be for the available worker to ask if I was ready to order. I will try again, if...

A great little ice cream shop with homemade ice cream. My mom and I stopped by here on our way back down from the outlets as a little pick me up. We always saw this shop but never had the time to go in and we were so glad we were finally able to visit! It's a small but fun little ice cream shop, very child friendly and the staff there is helpful and sweet. You can also taste test a few flavors if you're unsure

My mom got the strawberry ice cream (1 scoop) on a sugar cone and I got the oatmeal cream pie ice cream (1 scoop) on a waffle cone. We got 1 scoop but it's definitely more than 1 scoop.. I think it's 1 (big) scoop on top of the ice cream inside the cone. My mom and I had a hard time finishing our ice cream because it was a lot more than we thought haha

The strawberry ice cream was good, just like how a strawberry ice cream should taste - creamy and sweet with pieces of strawberry and my oatmeal cream pie ice cream was super delightful! It was sweet, creamy, and tasted oaty, filled with the oatmeal cream pies here and there, yummm!!!

I would definitely recommend this little ice cream shop if you're nearby or passing by. You won't be disappointed by the flavors, the quality of the ice cream, and the friendliness...
