Review: Unethical Deposit Practices and Lack of Accountability

I would strongly caution others before doing business with this company. My experience has been both frustrating and disappointing. After placing a deposit, I had to cancel for valid reasons—yet despite the absence of any binding written agreement, the company has refused to return my money.

There is no signed contract, no clear refund policy, and absolutely no justification for keeping the deposit. Their response has been evasive and dismissive, ignoring the fact that Pennsylvania state law protects consumers from such deceptive practices. The company’s refusal to acknowledge basic legal standards, such as honoring cancellations where no agreement exists, speaks volumes about their disregard for ethical business conduct.

I am deeply concerned that this company has created a pattern of withholding deposits without any legal basis. It's troubling to think others may have had similar experiences. Transparency and accountability should be the foundation of customer relationships, but that has not been the case here.

We just used Nicks BBQ for our wedding and I cannot say enough good things them and their team!!! From the very first inquiry Hallie was responsive, organized, and fully transparent. They provided an amazing array of options at the tasting and were flexible with ideas we had, up front about total cost and no random hidden charges, and even took initiative to become familiar with the venue weeks before the event. The day of the wedding I didn’t even know they were there until I smelled the food and then saw everyone happily enjoying their plates, Hallie and her team were 100% on it. The food was so delicious, fresh, flavorful, brisket was melt in your mouth!! The service was amazing, everyone was very kind and helpful. 10/10 will use them in the future and recommend to anyone...

Very limited menu options, extremely bland, overly fatty meats and sides that were either undercooked (beans) or near rotten (coleslaw). Small portions, high prices and a very nasty owner who instead of taking accountability for a negative review, decided to verbally assault a paying customer instead. I see he also did nothing but deny deny deny to another review below mine that wasn’t to his liking. I guess only the good reviews are right, but it’s impossible in Nick’s mind that anyone could have a poor experience? Take some accountability, Nick...or you won’t be in business for long. I’d give the place negative stars if I could. Did not enjoy. Do not recommend. Go literally ANYWHERE...
