Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Lower Southampton Township

Came in on a Thursday night and they were doing a lot of takeout business because of the Phillies and Eagles games that night so understanding things were a bit busy. But they were also majorly understaffed and it looked like two of the three employees working were training so we had to wait approximately 15 minutes to even put in an order. I completely understand when places are short staffed but to have one poor guy there trying to do everything seemed a bit short-sighted.

And of course this also meant the place was a bit messy (trash was overflowing and tables were dirty).

That said, once we got our chicken cheese steak (it took two tries as the first one was not cooked to order), we were very satisfied with the flavor and texture.

So we will have to give them another chance when things aren't so crazy and I'll update the review if things play out better.

EDIT: I promised a return visit and so we stopped by on a Tuesday night because we really liked the cheesesteaks. This go round the entire store was super clean (we watched one of the employees diligently sweep every inch of floor while they were preparing to close). The service was friendly and much faster. I know the place just opened but it seems very unorganized. I hope management can work out the kinks. Here is what I noticed after being there a few times:

1- I noticed an employee behind the counter eating...not very appetizing to see while they are preparing my food.

2- There were 11 people behind the counter and 4 of them were just standing there doing nothing except talking to each other and laughing...remember this is a business and I am sure the owner has a lot invested and wants to be successful.

3- Long wait time to get my sandwich. My sub just was sitting on the counter as I was waiting... Maybe announce the persons name so that hot food doesn't get cold waiting.

4- People in "Jersey Mike" uniforms sitting at a table near the back and just talking... Maybe get a break room so customers don't see them sitting.

The food was good but I was hoping this place would be more efficient. Use the model that SUBWAY created, it works way better and the food is...

I am newbie to the WONDERFUL world of the IBS/FODMAP friendly/high gluten sensitivity community, so finding food for us in this world now a days is So freaking stressful and can at times be depressing. I have eaten all those (DELICIOUS)foods my entire life to only get OLDER and now being told you CAN'T, is very overwhelming and a bit saddening. BUT when you FINALLY find a place that not only serves great hoagies(not a SUB sandwich-its a philly thang)..LOL and has GLUTEN FREE HOAGIE ROLLS THAT TASTES AS GOOD AS AN AMOROSO'S ROLL is a blessing..
