Been going to Josies for years. Food has always been decent. The one on 50th and slide has been our family spot for a very long time. We quit going for awhile because the 3 of us had the lunch buffet and the 3 of us got really sick. But we returned for breakfasts only awhile later. The waitresses have been there for years. They have always given good service. But one thing very noticable is they never seem happy I have never seen them smile. One of the lady's has been a little rude at times but still took care of us. It just makes it awkward. Today I noticed for 3 people and 3 drinks breakfast was close to 35.00 bucks. I know things have gone up and dont usually mind but I looked at the ticket and they now charge for chips and salsa ? When I was checking out I simply asked when they started doing that and she said you dont get chips and salsa for breakfast and for lunch you have to order something with beans and rice ? I asked if any of the breakfast items offered the chips and salsa like the lunch does and she actually raised her voice and got rather rude. My friend that was with me. Said the waitress seemed miserable enough now this ? You should go get your tip and pay for the chips and salsa and I personally will never return. I rarely take my tip off the table and I did not this time. It's not the servers fault. No matter how miserable she seemed. I'm really disappointed with this place now. And it stinks. We like the breakfast there. We use to love the lunch to. Until food poisoning happened. But to charge for chips and salsa ? I mean the place seems busy enough. Why nickle and dime something that is a tradition at a Mexican food joint. Well Josie after many long years of being a twice weekly customers and gathering spot once a month with friends I have to say good bye. Please fill your restaurant with smiling faces that look like they want to be there. Please get rid of the barking pitbull at the register. Manage food temp on the lunch buffet. And for Pete sakes don't charge for chips and salsa. Does it really cost you that much? I make it at home and spend pennies on the amount you put in your little cups. 35.00 bucks for 3 small breakfast is pretty high as is. Surely it compensates a small bowl of chips and a small...
Read moreOn Sunday August 26, 2018 I brought my mother here for lunch. Josie's is her favorite place as well as it "was" mine. Due to health issues it's sometimes difficult for my mom to get out so this was a special time for us. As usual the food was GREAT, the people working behind the buffet were GREAT, our waitress/waiter were...well I couldn't tell you BECAUSE WE NEVER HAD ONE!!!! The young hostess whose name was Brianna seated us and brought us our drinks, I went and got our food but no one ever came by to picked up the empty tray or dishes or asked us if we needed anything. Finally Brianna the hostess walked by after seating other customers, she refilled our drinks and cleared the table of the empty tray and dishes and notified our waitress/waiter? Finally after waiting 15-20 minutes for the bill I walked up to the cashier to pay, when I was asked for the bill I told her that I didn't have one because I never had a waitress/waiter so they had to look for her/him to find out how much was owed. It's disappointing, all of the other times that I've eaten here the service has been FANTASTIC! The one bright spot was Brianna who is the person who I tipped and is the reason I gave this experience 1 star. So when you dine here ask for Brianna! As I mentioned earlier the food is GREAT but it only takes 1 person to ruin a dining experience....Ruben...
Read moreHorrible service. I waited in the drive thru for 10 minutes because the "OPEN" light was on and the lights inside were on at 6:23 am. I also called the number they have painted on the wall with no answer. I eventually left and then I saw someone inside. I returned to the window were a lady turned her cheek to me, then a older man came violently waving his arms at me to leave, shouting "we open at 7!" I informed him his "OPEN" sign was on. He responded with " its always on but we're not open" I told him it was misleading and that I would of appreciated if someone would have had the curiosity to come to window and tell me this earlier instead of turning a blind eye. He quickly blamed me implying it was my fault for not seeing the bars on the window. As I was going to tell him I did not know what the bars stood for, he shook his hand at me to silence me and slammed the bars shut on me and walked off. This happened at the location by the mall. I was with two friends. Neither of us will be returning. Shame on this establishment for treating...
