After doing my research online I decided that this was the easiest way to make some cash without much hassle. On their website it says, bring items in, they'll sort out what they will buy and give you back the rest and you'll leave with cash. Simple right?! Since I had never done this before I figured it would take a bit longer due to paperwork. After about 30 minutes of me bringing my items in they finally started to sort them. I filled out my paperwork and asked about how long it was going to take because I live out of town but would just shop while they did their figuring. She said, "well, I'm not sure, there are 12 people ahead of you so it's probably best to just leave your things and come back in a few days". I informed her that I live out of town and that based on their website I thought this all happened in the same day, it's not convenient for me to have to travel to come back. She said, "well, there's really nothing we can do, that's just the way it is ". So, after I saw that I was getting nowhere I said, "will you have it done by tomorrow"? She said, we should be able to get to it". I said "I need a definite answer so I can arrange my schedule for travel". She literally would not guarantee when it would be done. In addition to that, I brought in several designer pieces and the "authenticator " was out sick indefinitely, and apparently there's only one. So, I ended up taking that back with me. I'm not going to leave high end designer items there indefinitely, that's absurd! So, the moral of the story is, it is NOT anywhere close to simple and quick like the website claims. Be prepared to camp out or leave your belongings with them indefinitely. I'm so disappointed because the store itself has great items and pricing but I will certainly not sell anything there...
Read moreTook some brand new name brand clothes that still had tags on (over $300 & wasnât expecting to get what I paid maybe half) in at 10:15am on a Tuesday & literally stood in line for 45minutes told they wouldnât be able to get to the items til probably get to it until Wednesday. At 10:45am they were turning people away because they ran out of binds! No problem got a text at 7:52pm stating items were ready come in by 8pm to get quote, cash & ârejectedâ items. Well I decided it could wait til today & got there & literally was lowballed to $28! No items were ârejectedâ. They accepted all items. I asked clerk how do yâall determine such a low price considering yâalls turn around & sell items at a much higher rate then purchased. She stated that they put in a system & system determines how much to give. My next question is how do yâall input in system by name brand, new with tags or worn? She stated she was unsure! Yeah right! Of course I declined the quote because 1 of the suede vest with fur inside new with tags is worth over $50. I stated I might as well put on Poshmark & she stated yea youâd get more there & she bought a $60 jacket & felt she paid too much! If thatâs the case you need to speak up to manager or owner! Not in a bind for the cash just cleaned out the closet & saw things I didnât wear that still had tags & couldnât return to original place of purchase & someone suggested. Staff was super friendly store very organized & neat but probably wouldnât shop there because of the lowball offers they give sellers. Sell on Poshmark, eBay or even online garage sell to get more $ then what they offer! Highly disappointed wonât...
Read moreSince I found out about Style Encore, I do very little clothes shopping anywhere else. Great selection of styles in all sizes up to very high plus sizes. Good quality clothing in a very well organized store. Styles are great for all ages of adult women, not just teenagers and co-eds like Plato's Closet. There's great sales at the end of the seasons that are usually another 50-70% off clearance. I once got a nice pair of plus size black corduroy pants for 72 CENTS. They do have name brand stuff for those who care about that sort of things, but lots of lesser-known brands at great prices. I've sold here too and always feel like I get a good amount of $ for what I have. I'm not someone who owns name-brand stuff but I come in with garbage bags full of stuff that I would be donating to Goodwill otherwise and walk out with at least $50 every time. The staff is always nice and friendly, I can't remember how many times I've gotten into conversations with various staff members about the clothes I'm buying or about something one of us is wearing and wind up standing there chatting long after the transaction has been completed (but never if someone else is waiting to be helped). I...
