Pollo Rico Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lubbock

Another once upon a time good Mexican restaurant going downhill!!! You start out so good, get so many customers then forget about quality which is what brought customers to your restaurant!!! Out of ALL the restaurants in Lubbock we choose to come to your restaurant, only to be gradually let down, you call to let them know and they don't give a rats a**! This place used to be so good! The last two times have been bad, this visit may be my last straw here especially after the way my call was handled when I called to inform them of my issues. This last order included a taco plate with rice and beans.... The beans were so dry they could be used as Play-Doh!!! The tacos were ok, but the birria has definitely been better in the past and not what they can live up to from my past experiences here!!! We also got a pollo burrito which had a bone in it about an inch big! Definitely wasn't expecting that!!! Took another bite then again bit into a smaller bone.... Not cool at all! I called NOT to ask for a refund but to inform them of my experience with the dry old beans and even worse the chicken bones I found in my burrito, my call was to let them know so issues can be fixed so I can continue to eat here... Only to offend the manager and be dismissed without regard to the issues I called about! I never asked for a refund! I just wanted to inform them! Constructive criticism only offends those who do not take pride in what they're doing, for this reason exactly I will not ever...

I had not heard of this place but let me tell ya'll it was clean well organized staff we even had some good cooks. I ordered a plate called LA Parriada which is basically a fajita plate but unlike other places my plate was overloaded,comes with charro beans rice corn tortillas ×4 salad guacamole. The meat in itself was a goodly amount ( chicken and beef) the chicken itself filled me up although I also had some beef. My son had no telling how many different kinds of tacos and ate each and every one of them. My daughter in law had qusobirria tacos side order of guacamole completely destroyed it (WOW). Got home feed my pugs the leftovers from my plate,it was quite a bit.. great service great food,even better quality and quantity and the corn tortillas were homemade. You just have to try this place it just might...

I have been in Lubbock for two weeks and I've attempted to eat 3 times here. ALL 3 times they are out of chicken. Two times were "we don't have anymore" and the other time was "we don't have any right now it will be 30 minutes" seriously not even going to attempt again. Don't even bother driving to this place. Call and see if they have some before even going. It's a chicken place how are they gonna be out? I'm so mad I really wanted to have...
