Pancake House — Restaurant in Lubbock

Greeted by freindly staff, seemed like they were genuinely glad to see me. Coffee and water appeared instantaneously, ordered huevos rancheros got tomatoes instead of the paps fritas, bacon as the meat...... No shortage of bacon here 5 pieces were brought it with perfectly cooked eggs, excellent beans and fresh sliced tomatoes, it was all great. Good coffee, good food, happy people.... What more do you want. I'll be back for sure

So an update, I came back, so glad I did.... This is the antithesis of hell's kitchen, I walked in sat at the counter, Andrea greeted me with the most beautiful smile, cup of coffee in hand and a pleasant attitude as well, a glass of water and menu appeared instantly. The choices were limited due to covid but when I asked about the huevos rancheros she said coming right up! I got it just the way I like it, bacon (4 slices extra thick) eggs, refried beans, papas fritas, tomato slices, and a pancake.... it was so good there is absolutely no way I could have made this at home for the price they charge.... so the value is phenomenal...the food was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. The people are so friendly and kind and not only are the employees happy, but the other customers seemed happy too, which just goes to show that in a good environment joy flourishes. When an employee seems happy at work that means they like coming to work which means the place they work is a good place that treats its employees good and it's customers even better. My kinda place. Shout out to Joni and Tony who were enjoying the food the ambiance, and were great company at the counter. You gotta eat here people, share the love, the joy, and happiness. Absolutely abysmal. Me and my girlfriend were looking for a decent breakfast on a Sunday but boy were we in for a surprise. It started out okay, we were seated quickly and then we waited for about 15 minutes and were asked for orders. We both ordered the chicken fried chicken and a coffee. Then after waiting a total of 30 minutes (mind you the restaurant was almost empty) we got our depressing looking food. I had ignorantly ordered fries with my meal and they were very tough and obviously made in a microwave. Extremely bland. Both me and my girlfriend tasted the chicken and surprisingly it was also seemingly created in a microwave. The water was good tho. Our waitress never checked in on us at all until the end when we waited for another 30 minutes for our ticket.

Anyone that has rated this 5 stars in the last month either hasn’t eaten real food or has no taste buds. I would rate this 0/5 If I could. This place is a sin; just go eat at Taco Bell and you won’t leave...

I used to go to this place back in 2002-2006 when I was a student at Texas Tech and I always loved it. I was back in town this past weekend for a graduation and I was excited to take my kids there before we made the long drive back to Houston. They sat us at a table and the waitress came out and asked us what we wanted to drink, and while my 8 year old autistic daughter was trying to say her order the waitress got impatient and walked off. She came back and took our drink orders after checking on another table. She then took our food order and we sat for about 45 minutes. She kept walking past us to check on the table behind us but never refilled our drinks or gave us an update on our food. I watched other tables who came in after us being served their food while we continued to wait. Finally I gave up and we walked out. My daughters were getting too hungry and we had to get on the road. I was extremely disappointed and won't...
