West Straw's Boba Tea — Restaurant in Lubbock

I don’t ever leave reviews but I was so upset with the service we received last weekend, 3/16/23, and I feel it needs to be addressed. It was my families first time visiting and my kids were excited to get some boba to end our night. We rushed over after our movie and got there with a little more than 15 minutes before close. I don’t like to be that person to get somewhere right before it closes and had it been 5-10 minutes, we would’ve just not gone. As soon as we walked in the girl working in the back gave a huge sigh and rolled her eyes. No hello or welcome in from either of the two employees. Just a flat what can I get for you from the girl at the register. We looked over the menu quickly and with each drink I ordered I was met with a condescending attitude. We paid and waited for the drinks. While we waited, my husband took my youngest to the bathroom and while they were in there the girls just sat and whispered to each other and kept glancing over to us. Once they set the drinks on the counter they came around and started turning off the lights and getting ready to close up. Mind you it wasn’t even 10 yet which is what time they close. It was clear they were bothered by us so as soon as my husband was back, we grabbed our drinks and left without a single word from either employee. Don't like how the machines ask for tips when they are just simply doing their job...

I work in customer service at a grocery store as well. When somebody asks for help I don't show them my phone afterwards with a tip percentage option.... That should only be available in restaurants because they're actually constantly getting you stuff and serving you for every picky. Little thing that every other customer wants and supposedly needs.. but just making a single drink after you purchase. It should not entitle a tip. That is the job duty.. That's why I don't go out to eat for these reasons, although delicious. I will never return... I already forgot what...

I used to like this place but it's gone downhill recently. There are way better boba tea lounges in town. This place charges more than others and the service has gotten pretty lousy. I was in there this evening and the place smelled heavily like rotten eggs (through my mask!) and 30 minutes before close they were out of boba. The new guy behind the counter was rude and didn't really seem to want to sell me a drink. It was pretty much like he had already closed up shop for the night. If a business says they're open until 9:30 then I would assume they're open and willing to serve customers until 9:30. If you're looking for great service, drinks and atmosphere I wouldn't...
