Honestly, I want to give this restaurant a good review because it’s obviously a small, family owned place, but the atmosphere, service, and food were all overwhelming poor. The building is run down and is in need of some serious renovations as it looks like it hasn’t been updated since 1980. The ceiling tiles were discolored and the carpet was coming up in places. Our server was friendly, but the bussers were untrained and clumsy, dropping discarded food on my plate and water on my menu. We were checked up on a total of 3 times in the 2 hours we were there, despite the restaurant being relatively tame. I ordered the pork chops and a whole hour later they came out so overcooked that I could barely chew them. The mashed potatoes were obviously instant and when I asked where they sourced their seafood from I got no answer, so I assume that it’s frozen just like 80% of the menu. I’m sorry, but my 90 year old grandfather can cook better than this and he can’t even start the grill. For an “upscale” steakhouse that serves disappointing entrées and Applebee’s style sides and appetizers, they should absolutely not be charging $20 and up for a basic dinner. The bottom line is that this is a small town restaurant that takes advantage of tourists looking for one of the few dinning options open past 7 o’clock in the minuscule town of Ludlow. In the long run, DJ’s hasn’t been forced to change since its opening in 1982 which has led to poorly trained staff, run down facilities, and food that would barely...
Read moreWhere do we begin..this was easily the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. So bad that we felt the need to write a review, which we've never done before. We were looking for a late dinner and DJ's was one of the few places that was still open around 9. When we first walked in the woman who greeted us asked if we wanted to sit in the bar area or the dinning room, they forgot to mention that nobody at the table can order bar food if you're sitting in the dinning room. After being seated in the dinning room, our waitress made us move to the bar because one person of our group of four wanted to order a sandwich. We then had to carry our own waters to the other side of the restaurant to the bar. We placed our orders, 5 minutes later she comes back to tell us they were out of salmon. Another 5 minutes pass and they're out of mashed potatoes, but somehow they had baked potatoes ready to serve. I and two other people in our group had to change our orders. After being told to hurry to the salad bar before they shut it down early for the night, we finally get our fountain drinks. So the food comes out, and our waitress did not come back till after we were done eating to check on us, how our food was or refill drinks.
Long story short, Jay money was right. Good service truly did die here, and the food was OK. Overall it was awful and the service...
Read moreI went here to eat with my family tonight. The waitress was very personable. Service was friendly. I ordered the lemon chicken and It was awful. It tasted like boiled chicken with lemon juice on top. It was tasteless and I barley have two bites even the baked potatoes was tasteless. I sent it back and the restaurant didn’t even offer to taken some of the price down which I felt was pretty sad. The waitress told us she tried but was denied. So 20 bucks for a meal I didn’t touch and tasted awful. We also got teriyaki chicken that aaa very good and my boyfriend got the chicken stuffed with ham and cheese and that was good. The salads were ok it mainly was thick chunks of stemmed lettuce not the best part of the lettuce. One of the kids got the the mini tacos they are pretty much 10 dollar over priced feeezer tacos you buy at the local grocery store your better off making them at home. The waitress again was great but I won’t be...
