Zesty Burger — Restaurant in Lufkin

I was really disappointed 😕. 1) The lady at the window was somewhat rude. 2) I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no onion mustard or pickles and she acted as though the world was ending. 3) I could tell the fries were mixed in with fresh fries and old fries, that had just reheated the old fries in the oil 😒. 4) Some fries were lightly seasoned with season salt, some with salt, and some with nothing at all. 5) The burger would have to be the most disappointing. The meat was falling apart. I thought I read in one of the reviews that the burgers were “ flavorful “ but they it wasn’t. It was bland and soggy. I would expect them to at least toast the buns if they know they it’s an to go order. Plus I said no onions and you could tell they forgot and pulled the onions off last minute because I could smell it on the burger.

By the way people where reviewing I thought I had finally found a decent burger and fries in Lufkin. Makes me wonder if you guys were paid for your review or if you’ve never just really had a good burger and fries before. It just doesn’t seem like the food was prepared with any love. Any passion. I'm really torn about how many stars I should put. I've lived in this town for 2 years. Eaten at Zesty Burger several times. They have, in my opinion, the best burgers! Always fresh, dripping delicious juices. I rarely order other stuff from the menu. Usually, it's just my wife and I getting food. THE ONE MAJOR PROBLEM, they are slow as hell! I understand it's fresh and that can't be rushed. But for drive thru... it should be soooo much faster! You order at the window and then sit behind the place for a lengthy amount of time before your food is brought out. Don't bring your whole family or even one kid, take out.

Today, we ordered for the whole family. I knew I was going to regret it. My wife and I with our middle child in the back seat. 3 JR cheese burgers, large shrimp basket, catfish & shrimp basket, regular cheese burger with everything, the ft long bacon wrapped hot dog, orders of fries and an order of onion rings. I think we waited 30+ minutes. No onion rings, the hot dog was not a foot long and the chilli on it tasted weird and my wife wouldn't eat it. Everything else tastes great! Oh wait! I ATTEMPTED to order for the first time since the new management took over for my mother and I ( So I hadn’t been in years) in the drive through once and the two lady’s whole dameanor was not welcoming at all. As she was taking my order she gave very much what do you want type of attitude. Not knowing that I’m an experienced server and I tip EVERYWHERE I go. I feel like that may have been the assumption on top of mine and I may be wrong , but as I looked back there was a girl with glasses kind of standing in the back( which I think was one of the cooks) she looked a little younger with the most disgusted mug . Again not welcoming at all. I politely told her that was okay , and nevermind in calmest way and simply gave an “ OKAY! “. Like whatever! And closed the window before I drove off. So yeah to grow up tasting those great shakes and burgers were a good memory but CUSTOMER SERVICE is key. No matter where you work. Servers that I’ve trained in my time of being in the food industry is that “ IF YOU TREAT PEOPLE AS IF THEY DONT TIP THEN THEY WONT”.
