Well, I'm a little partial to this sweet, little theater. As a youngster growing up in Lufkin and living only a short distance from it (back in the 1960's), my sister and I spent MANY a Saturday here. I can honestly say that it still looks a LOT like the original. The remodel updated the bathrooms, seats, carpet, but there are many features they kept. There is definitely a vintage feel. Don't be expecting the gigantic screens like you see at today's movie theaters, but the one here serves its purpose just fine.
They also have live shows, here. All great acts that I've seen so far. I'm very impressed what the city has done with this little gem. I live four hours from Lufkin, but usually check to see what's happening at the Pine's Theater when I'm in town.
Only thing I would change about it is the concession stand. Make it more like what you'd expect: candy, fountain drinks. Happy for the fresh-popped popcorn, though! Thank you, City of Lufkin!! Pine's only makes the downtown area even...

Inside it's just like a movie theater seating and does have a stairway that leads to a balcony area. They offer different showings throughout the year with movies, singers and bands of all types. It's very nice inside and a great place to take the family or a date night (depending on the event). I highly recommend coming to an event that suites your likings. You can go to the City of Lufkin website to see the yearly events planned and purchase tickets online for that event or you can purchase a year ticket. There are drinks to purchase such as bottled water, sodas and mixed drinks. And there is popcorn and depending on the event...
Read moreThis movie theater was really nice. Super clean and staff was very friendly. There were drinks and popcorn for sale up front. Didnt look very hard but I think prices were very fair. Movie showing was Dirty Dancing and theater was full but not packed. Bought tickets online. They have options for mobile tickets, printable tickets and will call. I used will call and worked just fine. Will definitely be checking future dates. Parking downtown is kinda hard to find so get there about 30 mins early and go to the coffee shop...
