Melecios Authentic Mexican Bar and Restaurant Lumberton — Restaurant in Lumberton

Initial impression is that the restuarant looks beautiful. It's small, but cute with plenty of seating. When we went in to be seated, the hostess ruined our first time experience with them. She only asked how many, started walking with the menus (No Silverware), and tossed them on the table. No follow me, no this is where you'll be sitting, no enjoy your food. Not another word, just rude. That's a complete turn off from the very beginning. The server was nice and as helpful as she could be. The food sucked. We went for the Birria Tacos and it was bland. I would not suggest those at all. We had to add salt to everything. My daughter had a quesadilla and the cheese wasn't melted. My husband had the Birria which were bland, and I had Carnitas that tasted ok, but I was missing all the garnish and the refried beans were nasty and gray not brown. We were also informed that the food is not consistent in taste, and the Birria is made for the week, not fresh. I would not...

Most important thing I can tell you, check your bill as what you are charged doesn't match the price listed on the menu. Upon sitting down, we were given a wrapped spoon instead of a fork. The server couldn't answer basic questions about menu items and then I was served a completely different meal than I ordered. When the server brought the receipt, all the prices were higher than what was on the menu. I questioned her about it and she still seemed clueless amd tried to tell me that was the price with tax. When I pointed to the sales tax line and asked why I was being charged taxes twice...she went back to being lost. She mumbled something about asking a manager amd walked off. I wasn't sure what she was doing, so I just paid and left. Just wasn't worth the debate. I love seeing new restaurants in the area but I won't be returning if that's how they plan to run their business. It's wrong and deceiving...

My family has dined with Melecios in Lumberton since they opened. Before that we drove from Lumberton to the one in Pembroke. We have been long time customers. But after today we will no longer dine with them. We got to the Restaurant a few minutes before 2:00 pm. We were told we couldn't order from lunch menu which ends at 2. My daughter told the waitress we were there before 2.The waitress basically called us liars because she told us we were not there before 2. My daughter, husband and I looked at her and said yes we were. By the time she took our order it was after 2 and if we could not order lunch then fine but don't tell me I am lying. We are Christians and didn't appreciate being told that. Also if you are inside Restaurant before 2 even if it's ten minutes then I should be able to order off lunch menu.
