Nucleus Raw Foods — Restaurant in Luzerne

Being a raw vegan connoisseur, I have experienced eating at several raw food restaurants across the country. Although I haven't covered all of them I've been to a fair share, enough for me to come to a conclusion that Nucleus Raw Foods by far has delighted me the most. The owner has nailed the recipes for mostly everything. You will not find this food anywhere in America. This place is one of a kind.

My favorites were the BLT sandwich and chicken tacos. I have never ever eaten a raw vegan taco with the shell looking literally like a real taco shell. I enjoyed it so much because raw vegans don't get to enjoy the foods that they used to eat before going fully raw. The sandwich bread wasn't the usual large, thick "cracker" that most raw vegan restaurants pass for "bread." This bread tasted like BREAD, looked like bread and felt like bread. Like I said, she has nailed this recipe.

I didn't get a chance to try a lot of their items because I was constrained for time, but while I sat there enjoying my raw vegan "fast" food, I heard all the guests go gaga over what they had ordered and were endlessly complimenting the owner.

Okay. Fellow Vegans. Listen up…. I was traveling through the area for an event. The event was catered and there were no vegan options, so the host grabbed us some food from here….. Outstanding on every level and I do not say this lightly….. these people are geniuses. I was so impressed that I immediately called and placed another order to take food home with me. The owner is very humble, kind, patient, helpful and clearly has a level of passion, dedication and expertise rarely seen. The food is exceptional. Over 40 kinds of smoothies and while she didn’t say it, I feel like when she saw me, the owner intuitively knew that I needed turmeric, which is something my Dr. has recently encouraged me to be consuming. I’m not from Pennsylvania and it was my first time going to Nucleus Raw Foods.. I didn’t know what to do or where to start, but the owner (I believe; although I didn’t get her name) made me feel welcomed and helped with all my questions. I ended up getting more than one thing, I wanted to try everything. Outside of the sandwiches I actually ordered, she put a side of the “cashew chik’n” so I could try it.. EVERYTHING was delicious!!!! Everything is packed with flavor and worth it!!! I am amazed and after the backyard sandwich I still feel energized and ready to continue my day..
