Ok, first the positives. The food was made and cooked at time of order. The decor was bright and colorful. The corn tortilla's were pretty good and fresh.
I will give some leeway as it is a new store and give 2 stars for the food instead of one, but the food is simply not great. The salsa's while fresh were fairly bland. the pico de gallo was literally diced tomatoes with no cilantro at all. The chips are not home made, and were on the stale side.
I ordered tacos with each type of protein option, as well as quesadillas; along with each type of salsa. Basically I tried everything available on the menu for $68 dollars, and found nothing was particularly good at all.
Each protein (Beef, pork, chicken, chorizo) was overcooked and rubbery. The seasoning was bland to non-existent.
The burrito's and torta's where not available yet; however I doubt I will go back to try them. They will still be using the same ingredients as the tacos.
It's a shame, I had really high hopes, but it was a real...
Read moreI think the food here is good, but I have a real problem with attention to detail. This is located close to where I work so I often place an online order to pick up and wolf down lunch during my very brief break. I usually order a burrito, and more than half the time, it is made gringo style, even though I NEVER order it that way. I don't discover it until I'm back in my office and by then it's too late to go back and have it remade, so I just eat it, but having the order accurate less than 50% of the time is really not good. There's no phone number listed, so I can't call to let them know, so I'm writing this Google Review in the hopes that they see it and get their staff to actually pay attention to the details of the order. I might give them one more chance but if this doesn't change I'll just stop ordering food from there and get lunch...
Read moreThis was my first time at Taco Jesus but it won't be my last. As you walk in, the sitdown, spacious restaurant has a very colorful and welcoming interior. A cheerful young man greeted me. Then, he gave me the rundown of each taco to include a few comments on his favorites, which I appreciated. After much thought I went with pollo (chicken) and assada (steak) flour tacos. They both were tender and juicy with just the right amount of spice, onions and cilantro without overpowering the meat. I took it to go with chips and bottle water, but hope to come back soon to dine in. I would...
