Decided to run into the new place The Flour District this morning for a quick breakfast. I have been to the previous location to pick up the much loved croissants, so I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as the new location.

As soon as I open the door, I knew this was going to be THE new location to catch up with friends over breakfast, date morning with my husband, or just for a relaxing cup of coffee and pastry! It is absolutely stunning inside! They have outdone themselves with this build out! The details all the way down to the floor are perfection! It is cozy and comfortable, open, bright and welcoming!

I got in line and was tempted with every single item I saw! I grabbed a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, which is NOT your drive-through restaurant kind of biscuit. Let me assure you of that! It was out of this world!! I also ordered a box of assorted pastries for my neighbors. It was difficult for me to hand over the box without crying a little bit! 😉. Their box of goodies was beautifuL, and delicious, so I have heard!!

I bought myself a croissant to have later, and I want to assure you this is not the kind of croissant you buy at the grocery store! It is the type of croissant you buy in Paris. Absolutely delicious, crisp with soft buttery layers, and paired with one of their amazing coffees it is enough to make you want to hang out there all day. Oh, and I guess I should admit, I also bought a cookie! I’m not sure what kind of cookie it was, but it was large, flat, and was supposed to be chocolate chip I think, but there were no chips in mine. Despite the absence of chips, I would order it again AND pay double just to have another one lol. (I could be wrong, maybe it wasn’t a chocolate chip. Maybe it was a brown sugar cookie or something like that because that’s what it tasted like, and I almost wanted to die and go straight to heaven while eating it! Don’t miss the cookie, no matter what you do!

So, this is the perfect place to meet up with your friend for a coffee date, take your significant other for relaxing meal, or go get takeout to deliver to a neighbor who could use a little pick me up! You won’t regret swinging by this place it is special and it is here to stay. I am sure of that!! 5⭐️all the way.

I cannot highly recommend this...

The location is beautiful. They've thought of every detail with the store's aesthetic. It was very clean, busy but not too busy...

The baked goods, this from an avid (perfectionistic) home baker, are okay. If you aren't into baking yourself, you'll probably think they're really quite good. I tried the kolache, chocolate croissant, and cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll and kolache were pretty good--seemed to lack salt or something in the dough's flavor, but overall they were decent. However, the chocolate croissant did not have the proper number of layers and was not cooked through. This may be a question of quality control with new employees?

Above all, the cost seemed too high for the size of the pastries. They were in the medium-small end of the spectrum.

I think this place is aimed at posh people, so you're paying for atmosphere, which isn't what I'm after. But that might be your jam!

Kolache = 4.50-5.00 (can't remember!) Cinnamon Roll = 5.00 Chocolate Croissant = 4.75 Cup of Self-serve drip coffee =...

The new permanent location is lovely, opened May 2023. The inside is chic and relaxing. The shop is connected to a refillable soap store and Scratch pasta. There is plenty of parking. The service is still just as good, but there are more employees. I purchased a cup of coffee, two treats for friends, and black currant & cream scone. The scone had a muffin crumb instead of scone, but it was very good. Open 10-6 most days.

8/2023 update: the shop is still as busy as ever. But the chocolate croissants has less filling than when the store was small. The currant scones are still good and they offer more sandwiches for a quick lunch. Old shop: This little shop has great pastries. It is only open two days a week for a few hours. The croissants are very flakey and the chocolate ones are so good. Cardamom knots are pleasantly spiced, the spice cookie is a little over spiced but pairs well with the coffee that is offered. Go early, because the selection gets smaller as...

Someone recommended we check this out and we sure are glad we did! We will definitely be returning. Awesome vibe, plenty of seating, delicious food and drinks (we got breakfast croissant and iced matcha). Can’t wait to try more drinks and pastries!! Plenty of parking also.
