Met with my mother for launch this was one of the worst dinning out experience I've had. The food and service was awful including the one drink I purchased was supposed to be a signature margherita and was served in a plastic up with an old dried unappealing lime slice that was so old it was black and a shriveled dry purple flower. The alcohol was so strong it gagged me, get this it was served in a full 12oz cup and I drank half with no affects of alcohol at that point I became suspicious I'll leave it at that, I pushed it aside and didn't finish it. The place needed a good cleaning and every booth seat was ripped with the white cotton sticking out except for the last one which we choose. Ok wheww, we were summoned to a window and was informed that there was no table service and we would have to order our meals and drinks from the window and seat ourselves. We were handed a folded paper menu and sat down. Someone brought us a pitcher or water [ no ice] and two plastic disposable cups. I'm still trying to give this place a chance so I got up went to the dark window and ordered Pad Thai Noodle and Crazy Noodles which had a two pepper rating. I also ordered a Coke which was a barely cold can of Coke served with a plastic disposable cup of ice. Our food was served to us in a plastic meal prep container the kind you get from Walmart to store food or meal prep in. Get this they weren't even the same color! One was white the other was black lol and were given plastic disposable silverware to boot. The Pad Thai was horrible almost tasted rancid I had three bites and that's it, I started feeling nauseous. My mothers dish was more like a 4 pepper spice rating instead of twoand she choked with each mouthful it was so spicy! She didn't east much of it either. The soy sauce was presented in a fingerprint and grease stained plastic thingy with a few crumbs attached it needed a good washing to say the least. We also ordered spring rolls which were greasy, practically empty and dry. The sweet and sour sauce was a little plastic cup of some bright pink surgery water? Oh yeah, while we gone to the restroom which contained a urinal and toilet [ i guess they made the mens room an Unisex bathroom] someone came and took back our take out menus! No problem because we had no intentions of returning ever! You've been warned. With a bill of almost $50 bucks, I was extremally disappointed. Saying the whole experience was sub par is being nice. Btw when we left I went next door to a Bbq place and got some really yummy food to eat at home. The best part was spending time with my moo ma, its always...
Read moreOur delivery was picked up and never delivered. We never got our money back and had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I did not order from uber, uber eats, grub hub, or DoorDash. I ordered directly from Bangkok Thai’s website, as my cc clearly states below. I was charged by Bangkok Thai and that charge went through. After I ordered the food from Bangkok Thai, their website transferred me over to Toast, who will be delivering the food. An hour later I get a text from an Uber driver saying the food‘s been dropped off. There was no food at my door, so I contacted the Uber driver to let them know. The Uber driver told me that they dropped it off at a senior citizens complex and left it at the front counter and that they couldn’t get back in to get it. Then I called Bangkok Thai to inform them that I never received it because the driver dropped it off to the wrong location and can’t get back in to get it. Bangkok Thai told me that they will dispute the charge with Uber and that I should do the same. I asked them about the order I never received and how long it would take to get. They said, I’d have to go on line and reorder and pay again to receive my order. It was a $90 order. I asked Bangkok Thai why it should come out my pocket when I ordered through them and never received my order. They told me that I should get my money back disputing it with uber. I told them I didn’t order from uber, I ordered directly from their website that I shouldn’t be the one out $180 for one order hoping I get reimbursed by a company I didn’t order from. The lady with Bangkok Thai said that if they make me another order then they’ll be out $180 and that she’s not guaranteed to get reimbursed by uber. That doesn’t make sense to me. I told her that I’ll order from another company and will never order from them again. This is not how a business with 4+ stars should do business. If I ordered directly from uber, uber eats, grub hub or door dash I wouldn’t be upset at the Bangkok Thai, but the fact I ordered directly from Bangkok Thai and the charge on my bank account says Bangkok Thai upsets me. They aren’t taking the responsibility and ownership of that mistake. They should’ve reordered at their expense or refunded me the money. Why should I have to dispute that charge through my cc when it’s Bangkok Thai’s responsibility not my cc company’s. If Bangkok Thai chooses to use a third party company to deliver, then they should take responsibility for that third party company and not pawn it off on the customer. I’ll never order from Bangkok Thai again, nor will I ever recommend them to...
Read moreBelow my lowest expectations. I have dined at eleven Thai restaurants in NE Ohio and more in New York City. This was the worst.
Tom Yum Goong Soup Hot reddish water with a little spice, two shrimp, and very little taste. Other venues have more flavor, shrimp, and mushrooms. Some add small cherry tomatoes.
Fried Dumplings Bland tasting dough. Couldn't detect any filling in it.
Pad Paradise Waitress said it would be spicy. Wrong. Not much taste and a very small portion.
I spoke to the manager (owners daughter?). My dinner companion confirmed I was polite when I shared my comments. The manager was unconcerned when she informed me, "If you don't like it, you don't have to eat here again." She took the hospitality out of the hospitality industry.
For good Thai food try Siam in Cleveland, Cilantro in Akron, and Rice Paper in Fairlawn. Excellent food at each restaurant and they are friendly. Response to owner's comments:
A business owner is entitled to respond to a customer review, even if they react with a mistaken account of events and by accusing the customer of dishonesty.
We entered with great, but mistaken, anticipation and ate because we were hungry - it was too late to go elsewhere. It is the exception for an Asian restaurant to charge for tea (hundreds of experiences on three continents). Money was not tossed at anyone - I calmly signed a charge card receipt. I added a decent tip for the server, too. There was neither disruption nor disturbance.
I felt the necessary to let you know it was not a satisfactory meal. Your demeanor was borderline arrogant and certainly disdainful. Your online response is similar.
Do not be alarmed. You will never see me in your restaurant again. There are too many alternatives with superior food, better value, and more...
