The Drawing Board Arts — Attraction in Lyndhurst

Highly recommended! A couple of weekends ago, we were looking for a fun activity to do together as a family! With the weather getting chilly, it needed to be an indoor activity. In that search, we found The Drawing Board, a pottery and art studio. The place is spacious & very well designed, and immediately sets a tone of tranquility. Our kids of 11, 10 and 8 had a blast working with the pottery wheel. My wife and her friend also joined in the fun of working the pottery wheel.

It was fun watching them learning to be patient, delicate with their hands as they worked with the clay. The instructor (Renee) & the staff were extremely patient and helpful answering the innumerable number of questions from the kids, while also helping them achieve a good shape to their clay mold. everyone got to make 2 builds, and then decide which ones they wanted to keep.

We went back the next week, to color the bowls, and again the staff was extremely patient and helpful! Once the coloring was done, the bowls were sent to get fired, and buy they turned out to be excellent!

Really a fantastic new store! In the same location as the former pottery painting place (BDE) that we enjoyed many Sundays and birthday parties, this updated store is beautifully remodeled and updated, to include new features such as pottery wheels and lessons, and clay sculpting! They also make all their own pieces, enabling a much more diverse selection than available at more traditional establishments!

The staff is also phenomenal, gentle, kind and above all helpful.

Highly recommend for a relaxing afternoon/evening or your birthday party needs for all ages!

I attended a “paint your pet” workshop at Drawing Board Arts, and had such a great experience! It was my first time visiting, and I’m glad to know that such a gem of a place is in our neighborhood. The instructors were very knowledgeable, organized and patient, and shared excellent, clearly-explained techniques that we successfully applied to our pieces.
