The food was okay, service okay, prices okay. But the clientele at the bar at closing time was beyond rude! So many nasty looks and comments as we were leaving. I guess they were friends or regulars there to watch a ball game, and we were cramping their fun. The bartender never batted an eye at their antics. We won't be back.
I was there escorting three seniors, all in their 80's, looking for a decent meal and place to chat. They had all graduated high school together, and wanted to catch up a little. One was a veteran. One the wife of a retired special agent. One the wife of a veteran, and my mother. The place closed at 9pm. We left at ten after. The owner(?) manager(?) didn't seem to mind. But as we passed the bar to go out the door, three women glared at us, one said "About time!" and as the door was closing behind us there was laughter and "Jesus, I thought they'd never leave!"
Absolutely uncalled for, and just so disrespectful. They served our country, supported as their spouses served, have seen more, done more, suffered more than you can ever imagine, and you stoop that low. They're old, but not deaf. They heard you. Shame on...
Read moreWhen entering the resturant I chose a seat at a high top bar table. The server made her rounds stopping at each table except mine. She looked me squarely in the face and did not even mumble "give me a second, or I'll be right with you." After 15 mins of sitting peacefully now I'm checking to see exactly how long it will take before someone acknowledges my presence. At 27 minutes a guest at the table next to me points out to another server that no one has come to my table. She thoroughly apologizes. Now this young lady was worth the wait. She was on top of it. I couldn't decide between the crab cakes and the pork chop. Jordan, my server, says go with the chops. They were magnificent. Served with mashed potatoes, collard greens and a squash casserole. God-lee the sides where well seasoned and the casserole was a surprise with a tomato base was just awesome and the peach chutney... i had on each fork full of tender pork. Thank you Jordan, my server, for making my first visit to Corner Cafe not my last....
Read moreDuring Covid my wife and I have not been eating out nearly as often as during normal times, but yesterday we couldn't resist the urge to venture out for dinner. Although it had been quite a while since we had been to Corner Cafe, we recalled that we enjoyed the food so we decided to head back. Our visit did not disappoint. My wife had the Pacific Rim Salmon and I had the Chicken Parmesan. They were both very delicious and the Chicken Parmesan comes in a huge portion of both chicken and fettuccine pasta with cheese. It is truly scrumptious but plan on taking some home. I had the Chocolate Bomb for the dessert. It is the bomb!! James Taylor was delightfully the featured musical artist for the evening and the volume level was just right. Jordan was our server and she did a fantastic job. The only improvement that I can suggest is that the lights could be dimmed a bit with perhaps candles on the tables. Overall, it was great food and service making for a very enjoyable meal. We highly...
