La Bella Restaurant — Restaurant in Lyons Township

What happened to Via Bella? Just got done with mother's day brunch, and it was really bad. The place is set up as a banquet hall, but it sure seems like they have never had to serve so many people. Our drinks were served in plastic party cups? Is that how weddings are served? The only decorations on the tables were signs that said "table 7" - they could even put a bud vase with cheap carnations for mother's day? It must have been our waitress's first day, too - "do you have root beer?" "I don't know." "Do you have chocolate milk?" "I don't know." The food was just about as bad. A good variety, I'll give them that. The desserts were fine, probably because they were brought in. They had pizza that was stone cold. I mean like fridge cold. There was shrimp with cocktail sauce, but the shrimp were submerged in cold water. I can only assume that they were on ice a few hours ago, but now they're just gross.

Needless to say, I'm really disappointed. I remember when they were in downtown Lagrange and it was a nice restaurant. This is just bad. They should be ashamed of this service.

I want to apologize to my mother for taking her there for mother's day. Next year will be better, mom, I promise - because we won't be going...

Several organizers joined with BrightStar Care of Chicago, La Grange, Naperville and Oak Brook to have an educational event at Via Bella on March 26th.

I have used Via Bella over the last 5 yrs for healthcare educational events and they never disappointed us. Our guests are treated to a lovely buffet. Plus the waitstaff realize that we are having a presentation and that it is important that the room remain quiet. So they do not 'clank' dishes by hurrying to clean up during the talk but wait until it's done.

My opinions on service, hospitality and foodservice are formed by the fact that I too have worked in these industries and see quality when I am hosting an event.

I had the pleasure of attending a baby shower at your banquet hall yesterday Sunday, September 16. I was very impressed with the appearance of the building, your staff was very professional and polite. They cleared the table of used dishes very quickly which is something I really like. If you needed something they brought it to you right away-no waiting... Saving the best for last was the food was FANTASTIC!!! The Bruschetta was to die for and the chicken was so moist and tender it was delicious. I would recommend uses this banquet hall for any gathering you have. You will not be disappointed. I give this place a FIVE STAR! Excellent job everyone. Thank you for such a pleasant...
