In 1991 I lived in the Lagrange Countryside Illinois area. My home and that of my wife's family became loyal customers only getting our pizzas from Piza Pissa. I moved away from the area in 2001 and returned in 2014. Since 2014 my family has ordered two pizzas every time we ordered which because of our crazy split schedules between my wife, son, and myself we often find it hard to cook. So I ordered my son a pizza and one for my wife and I. We would order 4-6 times a month, and over the last year it has cost us about $45 plus a tip of $10 - $15 depending on the delivery drivers time and service.
Tonight I ordered 2 pizzas 5 minutes after they opened and I was told it would take 50 - 60 minutes. The time was 4:05 pm at 5:33 pm I called to see where my pizza was. I was told a big order for LT High School came in and they got slammed my driver was on the way. At 6: I called and was told that my pizza was already delivered, and I said it wasn't. The response from the woman in the phone was; "I don't know what to tell you my driver said he tapped on your window and you accepted the pizzas. I asked what the driver said I looked like, and it was avoided until she said a guy in his late 20's or early 30's. I'm 60 years old and now I'm mad because she is calling me a liar. I now raised my voice and was told if I didn't change my attitude I wouldn't even get my money back.
I was put on the phone with the manager. A nice guy who asked me what I wanted, and if I wanted my money back. I simply said I'm hungry and would just like my dinner, and he thanked me for the loyalty to the business for over 20 years. He offered me free drinks, a salad, or some other sides. I simply said I just want the pizzas, and they remade them for me. They arrived in 38 minutes.
While I appreciate the promptness of the re-delivery, the understanding of the manager/owner, what I wasn't prepared for is the completely different taste and style the pizza was made in. Now they've owned the business for 2-3 months, and until they closed for the past week for unknown reasons, the pizza remained the same. Tonight the transformation to their product as horrible. $60 for two 14" pizzas, that was paper thin, over cooked crust, tasteless sauce and under cooked peppers.
I've have very few places that I enjoy pissa from. Turnabout in Lemont, Pete's Piza in Joliet, Papa Passero's in Westmont, and what you use to be an excellent pizza from Pisa Pizza in Countryside. Had I know this conglomeration of crap on burnt cardboard was going to show up, I would've run over to my local Menards and bought a couple Lotsa Mozz frozen pizzas and had a better dinner. 23 years of enjoying the service and quality of Piza Pissa tossed out the window. I don't know how a company can be bought by another owner and then completely destroy what made Piza Pizza what it was. They won't last 5 years if this keeps up. My son, wife, and I are completely disappointed for the product for the 2 hours and 7 minutes we waited to arrive.
From here on out I will drive to Lemont for Turnabout Pizza or order from Salerno's in Hodgkins. Six thumbs down for Piza Pizza from...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this restaurant. A few of my friends and I ordered through Doordash; a pizza, salad, and garlic bread. The items we received were completely different than our order. The items given to us were from another person’s order made on GrubHub. We attempted to contact Doordash, but with no luck called the restaurant. The man who answered told us they had given the delivery woman the incorrect order and would be sending one of their drivers to give us the correct food. After this, the restaurant called again and requested that we give the delivery man the food we had received in exchange for our new order to be given to the correct customer. I find this completely unsanitary and unsafe. When the ‘correct’ order arrived, nearly 2 hours later, the food was delivered by a woman from Doordash. She was very professional and attempted to assist us when we discovered, yet again, we were missing an item. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much she could do. We called the restaurant again, and the woman who answered was very blunt and rude. She told us they were closed and no longer accepting calls. Once we hadn’t the chance to explain our dilemma, she told us that their delivery man had ‘taken the salad’ with him, even though the food was delivered through Doordash. About an hour later, a woman from Pisa Pizza did come to deliver the salad. In total, we waited around 3 hours for all of our correct items to be delivered, only to be disappointed in the quality. I am very disappointed in this service and will not be ordering from this...
Read moreJesus Christ. Why did you idiots buy Pisa Pizza if your first call of action was to alienate your 30+yr customer base? You could tell right after the purchase, y’all began quickly finding ways to save money. Changing the cheese, changing the sauce. Then you remove the Italian seasoning for some reason? But then wait for it, y’all did something absolutely insane, you changed the pizza entirely to a dried out, ultra cheap, trash pizza. Tavern pizza? I could get a better pizza at Kenny’s. Did you guys even like Pisa Pizza? Are you aware that all the families in surrounding cities have been ordering this every weekend, for most of their lives? And you just change it entirely on them? I’ll make you a deal, sell me Pisa Pizza, and I’ll return everything to the 100% original recipes, I won’t change a thing, I’d even bring back the boot pizza boxes. Don’t ruin this company forever, let me save it from the mess you guys have made.
You can tell they are making a bunch of fake 5-star reviews. They are all weirdly similiar about the changes to the pizza being good with profiles that are fake. Not one person would enjoy paying so much for such an...
