Very disappointed in this place, "Little Joes", does not live up to its Glory Days, if it ever had any for serving up a Great Beef and Sausage sandwich. I visited here today (10/13/20) for lunch, and saw the old reviews which were displayed inside the counter top, they were dated some time ago, but thought I would check out the place for a combo, beef and sausage which was not very good at all. The beef was tender but had absolutely no flavor, it tasted like it was sitting in boiling water, and the Italian Sausage was the biggest disappointment of all, it was DRY and BURNT (*See photos of the sandwich) , I ordered the 9 inch Big Beef combo, and was told it had a sausage and a half to fill the bun, but it was misleading, they cut the regular sausage in half then spread it across the bun to appear its long, so they charge you an extra $3.00 dollars for nothing, so don't bother to get the bigger sandwich and waste your money. when I asked for some salt and pepper I was told that they don't have any because of Covis-19, and they don't put the condiments on the tables any more, so I asked, why they don't use the paper packets? and was told they don't use them. This place gave me the impression that they don't really care about there customers, because they haven't supplied basic condiments, and the dinning room appears clean, but kept sloppy (*See photos.), the back tables had all kinds of equipment siting on them, and the back tables were being used for storage of the outside tent, loosing about 3 tables for dinning. Don't understand why the dinning room isn't kept up? Overall the food is NOT VERY GOOD, and below average, so save your money$$ . They have free parking lot, and no gluten free items on the menu, the hot dogs are average-...

He was a Chicagoan through and through and Little Joe's is his favorite place to get a Chicago dog, so after he passed surrounded by his Family, I suggested we all go get Little Joe's hot dogs in honor of Grandpa. So we did. I went in and placed the order for all of us and showed them a picture of Grandpa holding Nora, his first great granddaughter. They all recognized him and were sorry to hear of his passing as I told them the reason for our visit. They refused to let me pay for our Family's meal and we all shared a genuine, sincere and human moment. They even remembered the last time Grandpa was able to visit the restaurant in person before getting sick. Not many places like Little Joe's exist anymore. They are sincerely a classic, loving, Family place that loves their Customers and treats them like Family. Their style is classic, the food is great, and they remind you there is still kindness in the world. That experience really meant a lot to me. Thank you Little Joe's; we'll be back...
Read moreOne of my favorite places for italian beef. An italian beef with giardinera, fries and a soda is the north star of my food heavens. I've had them all my life and always note the best ones. These guys are my current 'best beef meal I can buy'. Beef is great, crinkle cut fries are fine, the (I assume) Turano roll is always fine, but it's the giardenera that really makes the sandwich stand out - homemade with a lot of celery, not super hot, not super oily.
Also, they're a small family owned pace. Their food is consistently excellent, though I'll confess I haven't had much besides their beef. The same ladies take my order every time I'm there, and they don't treat me like a stranger they'd like to get out of their faces asap. That certainly gives them an edge over Portillos where the food isn't bad and super consistent but where I never know anybody and where they have the conveyor belt mentality which leads to service problems which I won't...
