Rafferty's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Lyons Township

I had placed a take out order from this place and while eating my food I bit into a matter that contained three foreign objects (one inch long, thin, round, black plastic pieces similar to bristles on a brush not twigs) stuck in a clump of what appeared to be dirt, mold, grease. When confronting the establishment they completely denied it came from their kitchen and tried to blame the delivery driver from Doordash. They refused to take any responsibility, show any remorse, apologize or resolve the issue. They said the delivery driver pulled back the cheese on my mushroom, bacon, swiss burger and put it in the mushroom mixture. Then they said that it must have dropped and that's how the "twigs" got in it. This is completely absurd! The plastic bag was double knotted, my container of food was on the bottom, the sandwich was open faced in the container, cheese undisturbed and the sandwich and fires in place, not as if it was "dropped". The owners were both at home (I asked the bartender to call the people in charge to resolve the issue as a manager was not on site) when this happened and instead of one of them coming in to resolve the matter they denied it came from their kitchen, said the issue I need to take up with Doordash and said the delivery driver put the matter in my food. So disappointed. I took a big group of friends last week. We had very very slow service, but all in all the waitress was kind so I left her a very generous tip of 35% which was a lot on a big bill. So I brought my little girl on Friday night again they were busy. I saw the same waitress she looked at me. As I sat there for 15 minutes on the patio she never came back out. I didn’t get a menu. I didn’t get asked to drink order. Nothing. . I literally sat there for 15 minutes so we walked out. Ridiculous. I waited tables for eight years. I could’ve handled the inside bar and outside a good waitress can do that. not even being acknowledged ? We went to a restaurant down the street and got waited on immediately. I’m not putting this all on the waitress. Perhaps Rafferty’s needs to hire a second wait person or third or fourth or whatever another tables was just sitting there as well. But not ever even be acknowledged after 15 minutes, no menu no nothing? I do have to say their food is excellent. And reasonable. Unfortunately, you don’t...

This is a nice, little bar with limited parking in front of the restaurant. I suppose if it got busier, you could find some free street parking close by. I would say this Irish pub is more like fusion, based on the food menu. We decided to get corn beef bites, garlic bread, shepherd’s pie, and chicken pot pie. The service was good, our waitress was very attentive. Food came out fast and hot. Portion sizes are more than adequate. Prices were fair.

Corn beef bites were delicious, they’re bigger than one bite unless you stuff it all in your mouth. Good size swiss cheese and corn beef slices. Make sure you use the horseradish sauce. Garlic bread was okay, it could use more garlic and butter. I felt like it was tasteless. Shepherd’s pie was very cheesy. The minced beef was very flavorful and moist. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were also tasty. The chicken pot pie was way bigger than I imagined. The crust was flaky and golden brown. Texture was very creamy. Chicken was very tender.
