I’m not one to typically write reviews but there are times when it comes to this matter.
I went to rolling lanes at about 8:30pm last night wanting to bowl with my wife and my sister in law. I went up to the lady that was on duty that night (I can’t recall her name but she was a Caucasian woman) and POLITELY inquired about lane availability. In a matter of seconds, with a snarky tone, she says “I don’t have anything until past 10pm.”
I still politely said thank you and ask my party if they were willing to stay and wait. We decided we would wait in the bar and play darts while lanes became available. As I went back to ask if it is possible to reserve a lane for later, she greeted me with an snarky and cold remark saying “what?! I already told you there is nothing until after 10pm.” I said that I wanted to see if it were possible to reserve a lane and she said “no we don’t do reservations you get what you get just come back after 10pm when I have something.”
At this point, I felt uncomfortable staying as you can feel the tension she had for me. Mind you, I had never been here and wasn’t too sure about their procedures/policies but yet felt like I was being scolded for no apparent reason. A gentleman even had to step in as you can feel the animosity I was getting from the women and kindly told me “yeah sir they don’t do reservations here.”
For the owners, I would reconsider who you put in place to represent your business. Are these really the people that you want to represent your business as an extension to you? I would understand if I were being rude or acting in a bad manner to her but I simply went in to inquire about the place. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but you can definitely tell I was getting that tone from her because I am Hispanic. She was not talking to the Caucasian people like she was taking to me.
In the end, we ended up going to bowlero in Lyons where they accommodated us fairly quickly. Unless you like being belittled as a human, I would avoid this place...
Read moreI came for the proshop and was very satisfied with that experience. He was knowledgeable and fast. However the bowling alley was a weird and wild experience. First I had to cross the river Styx and face Cerberus, who manifested as a trio of alcoholics having violent conversations both in the parking lot, the vestibule, and entrance. Upon entry, there was extremely loud music or TV - I dunno something was playing really loud. All of the lanes were closed for some non-existent league or practice or God knows what the man (who I assume runs the place) screamed at me from 2 or 3 tables away. This was honestly the most disorienting welcome I've ever received from any business before.
We tried to calm him reassuring him that we were looking for the proshop. He told us it was closed and then started screaming at someone behind the service desk about how the proshop was closed. We kept walking towards the proshop anyway because we had talked to the proshop guy before coming and knew he was there. So we simply walked through that disaster and got the repair we needed done. In that time, no leagues ever started. The lanes were just closed.
We left and I had such strange tension in my chest. It was very simply a very uncomfortable environment...
Read moreI don’t leave reviews this is my first. Pretty nice establishment one of the bartenders was great. I felt kind of bad for him at one point he was simply doing his job by making sure one of the guests who was leaving wasn’t drunk then the group that was with the guy leaving started to be extremely rude. He kept himself pretty calm and continued to work through the name calling. The man was yelling homophobic slurs to him telling him to perform sexual acts, it was disgusting. The bartender did respond to the man yelling at him but not in an aggressive manner simply telling him things like I don’t need a car for a job and telling him he’s just looking out for his friend who did seem a little drunk. His co worker instead of backing him up left him working alone for about 20 minutes. So not only did the poor guy get insulted and humiliated with nobody there to stick up for him he had to work by himself. Kudos to him give that man a raise!!!!! I wonder what the other man’s job would think of him using all of those slurs. Should’ve taken a video and posted it on the internet maybe that guy will learn it’s not ok to do those...
