I was in the area to attend a family member’s graduation ceremony. Having never been to this establishment before, we were a group of 6 and walked in and were a little unsure of what to do. We looked for signs or indications of whether we should wait to be seated or seat ourselves. It was not busy at all, but after standing around feeling like idiots we decided to seat ourselves. We waited for a server to come, but realized from watching others who had obviously been there before we realized we were supposed to order at the counter. I got everyone’s order, and I made my way to the counter to place our order. The total for our group of 6 came to $110, and when I put in my card, I was asked what percentage I wanted to tip. I selected my usual 25 percent, which was $27.50. After my experience, I felt very disappointed in myself for tipping that much money when we weren’t even really served. I could totally understand adding a generous tip had we received top notch world class service, but we got our own flatware, our own napkins, and our own drinks. The server dropped off the salads and the apps and the pizzas, but we had to go up to the counter and wait to ask for extra salad dressing and for Parmesan and pepper flakes. We disposed of our own trash and cleaned everything up, so I really had trouble with figuring out what in the world we were tipping for that warranted almost $30. I actually felt cheated because I felt pressured into tipping BEFORE I had even received any service whatsoever. I would recommend having it clearly posted that it is a seat yourself and serve yourself establishment. I am sure the majority of your patrons are regulars, but for those who aren’t you really shouldn’t pressure patrons and gouge for tips BEFORE nonexistent service has...
Read moreMy experience with hardware pizza was not very good. Took my mother and father who are in town visiting from Oklahoma out for my mom's birthday dinner and was very disappointed. They were not able to make my order correctly, even though my husband had repeated it to the cashier in a very detailed manner.(not that difficult just a calzone with 3 toppings and marinara sauce inside it.) My husband did not care for the baked spaghetti due to the sauce being like Tabasco sauce, (my husband will eat anything)menus said it was marinara sauce but it was nothing like that. My Mom and dad said their pizza was ok but the meat was almost non existent. The staff and owner were very friendly and did comp. me with another calzone once my mother complained about the order not being correct. The response to my husbands baked spaghetti was just stating that they had a few customers already complaining about the same issues as he had. Comments were also made to us about how we should have said something sooner about order not being correct, but as my experience has been in the past when they can't get it right the first time you usually have to wait until all of your other eating companions have finished their meal before you receive your correct meal ordered. I just made do with what I got and let the staff and owner know how my experience was when they asked. Needless to say will not go back in the future and would not recommend to a friend due to my own...
Read moreI wanted to give this place four stars because there was no soap in the women’s restroom and we saw the same employee use the restroom twice, but the soap never got filled. My daughter doesn’t want me to tell you that we washed our hands in the men’s restroom. But she does want to make sure that I give it 5 stars because she loved it. The pizza was very delicious. We loved that you could have any of the pizzas in a 6” so we could order what we wanted. My daughter got the Pizza Marguerita which was cheesy, flavorful and bold. I got the Southerner without candied bacon because I don’t eat bacon, though, I can imagine that the sweet and crunchy flavor would be tasty on the pizza. The pimento cheese was gooey spicy perfection and the fried green tomatoes tasted freshly made. My son and husband shared a pizza that had pesto, ricotta, and mozzarella. My husband has a million allergies and is very picky and he really loved this pizza. My son doesn’t say much but he ate a bunch of it. The wood fire grill was legit. The service was delightful. It wasn’t loud because you could sit anywhere and it was very big. It’s basically the only place in town but also we recommend it if you are...
