I experienced an egregious act of discrimination while attempting to pick up an order from here. Upon arriving at the drive-thru, I was instructed over the speaker system via an female employee to enter the store to retrieve the order. I explained that I am disabled and, as such, was using the drive-thru as an accessible means of pickup. The employee on the speaker then asked, "If you're disabled, then why are you working?" This question was not only inappropriate but deeply offensive and discriminatory. I replied that I work because I have no choice—if I don’t work, I face homelessness.
Considering the long line at the drive-thru, I complied and entered the store. Once inside, I witnessed two employees—an older Black woman and a younger Black woman—mocking me openly, referring to “the disabled guy in the drive-thru” in a joking and derogatory tone. Upon seeing my facial expression, the older woman appeared to realize I was the person they had been discussing and ceased her comments. However, the younger woman continued, sarcastically stating that my walking into the store must have been a “miracle.” She didnt see me because she was behind a partition.
I directly addressed the two employees and informed them that I had overheard their remarks, and that their behavior was offensive and discriminatory. I reminded them that mocking a person with a disability is not only morally wrong and hurtfuly offensive, but a potential violation of the ADA. In response, the older woman told the younger employee to retrieve her tablet used for managing DoorDash orders, and stated that she was going to bar me from the store—not for any misconduct, but apparently for asserting my rights and identifying their violation of federal law.
I then returned to my vehicle and contacted DoorDash Support. While waiting on hold, I gathered my documentation, including prescriptions and proof of my diagnosis as a cancer patient receiving care at Emory Winship, where I am being treated for a rare and incurable blood condition. I brought these materials back inside to establish the legitimacy of my disability, which I should never be required to prove to access basic services. I politely asked for the names of the employees involved so I could file a formal complaint. Not only was I ignored, but I was met with hostility and refusal. Other employees on site also refused to provide identifying information or assist in any way. This was a traumatic and dehumanizing experience. I have never in my life endured such blatant discrimination, ridicule, and disregard for my health status. The psychological distress caused by this incident triggered a short-term mental breakdown, and I am currently exploring legal remedies.
This incident has been documented, and I will also be pursuing complaints with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, the Georgia Commission on Equal Opportunity, and any other...
Read moreThey have female manager on the night shift; she is the most horrible manager they have working there. It’s pointless to customer service to make a complaint. They won’t even address the issue that was drought to there attention. I use to eat there everyday on my lunch break. Not any more. One day before Christmas 2022. My order was wrong that I prepaid for with my MacDonald's app. I already waited in line for 25 minutes. No complaints on that. It happens. But; that also was making me late to return back for work from my lunch break. Plus my order was wrong. So I asked for my money back because I have no time to wait any longer. The night shift manager refused to give a refund on my food. As she stated they don’t give refund on food you prepaid from the MacDonald's app. And that the MacDonalds is not their app it’s a 3rd app and to with the cashier next if I’m looking to get a refund. So I had to leave without NO refund and NO food to eat. But I did go back in asked for my receipt so I can for a refund on food I never got. She told the cashier to hurry up and give me my receipt so I can kick rocks. I called customer service. That lady was nice and helpful. She sent a request for them to refund my money back. tThey never did and that why I take it as the issue was never addressed. Now I pay a higher price I don’t want pay by eating some places else. The name I can say because they don’t pay me to advertise. But know this I go eat elsewhere just for respect where I spend my hard earned money. I work from 2pm to 2am. And don’t feel like proofreading. So a may have some typos. I’m sleepy and did want to keep putting off this review after I seeing the police have to pull up there yesterday over another issue. Now I understand why I didn’t get my money back that day. That MacDonald’s location is bad for business. One more thing. I will show you some of how much...
Read moreWorse service ever. Came in on 8-13-25 at 9pm. Carmel color teen boy is extremely rude. Wait time for cookies and fries was over 20 mins. Went in for a refund. Told the cashier who went to go bag my order immediately that I appreciate her and that her co worker was extremely rude. She told him what I said. He came to my car window to approach me about me calling him rude. Two other employees came with him (the cashier I mentioned being one of them) I told him yes, I said you’re rude. I’m a customer, you all are extremely behind tonight and your rudeness does not help. He responds while reaching in his pocket “you don’t even know me” young man, I just had a negative interaction with you and here you are at my car window with negativity. So what, I said you’re rude. Fix your attitude with the rest of the customers and move on. Don’t come outside to confront me. Truth be told I was 30 seconds away from drawing my gun. To have three young people coming outside is a threat to me. It’s by God’s grace that he got the hell away from my car. Especially with him reaching in his pockets like he was going to do something. So like I said HE IS RUDE. What sane person would come outside to approach me about my experience with them. There was no apology issued. Just more anger and nastiness. He does NOT need to be working there and I will be escalating this. The conversation was recorded and I’m not taking him coming to my...
