My wife and I stopped in for lunch on 7/10/2024. This restaurant recently opened in Machias, Maine and we wanted to try it out. This location was previously "Bluebird Restaurant" and was a local favorite for many years. I ordered Mason's "Glorious 40's Melt" (basically a patty melt) that came with what they call "dirty fries" (french fries with Cajun spices). My wife ordered their Cobb Salad. The waitress was pleasant and accommodating, but it took quite awhile between her visits to get our order placed. After ordering, it took much too long before it was served. If I was not retired and still working a regular job, I would not have the time to stop and have lunch here. I feel as though we wasted too much time waiting around. My sandwich had good flavor but was lacking in meat. Every bite was a mouthful of toast, caramelized onion, sauce, and an over-abundance of cheese - but very little ground beef. The fries were mushy, greasy, and not very hot (hardly even warm). My wife said her Cobb Salad was good with the exception of a greasy, sausage-like meat they had put on it. Prices are not too insane, but a tad bit higher than average for this area of Maine. The portions are ample, though. Atmosphere wise, it does not feel as cozy or welcoming as the old Bluebird Restaurant did. After waiting so long to get our food, we felt a bit rushed after the waitress want to issue our check while we were still eating our meal. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars, but I think there is plenty of room for improvement. We do plan to return and give them another try later on. We'll try other items on the menu and see how it goes from there. We try to be fair. The restaurant business is a tough one and we would love to see Mason's succeed. Perhaps they will with just a little fine tuning. I think they are worth trying. You may have a...

We went to Mason‘s one night during the week. We drove past Helens, where we normally would go, because the parking lot was packed. When we arrived we were seated immediately, which was great, we were a group of four adults and three small children. We placed our drink orders, only two in the group had alcohol drinks, the rest of us just had iced tea. When she brought our drinks, we asked to place our food order because we knew the children would not want to sit there very long. She took our order and we waited an hour & 45 minutes before our food arrived. Way too long for children to be sitting there. I understand that they may hold off on bringing your food so you can enjoy your drinks, but not when you have a family with children. It’s different when it’s a group of adults. Masons needs to read the room. The food & atmosphere was great and I have to say the staff did the best job they could, they kept looking at us like they were sorry. The sad thing is the next time we go out with our grandchildren, there is a very good chance will drive past Mason‘s and go to Helen’s because Helen’s understands that -if the children aren’t happy, then the parents (& grandparents)...

We are from out of town and stopped in for a bite. Sure glad we did! The food was DELICIOUS. I had the truffle pig pizza. It comes in a six slice size which was more than sufficient for me for lunch. The bacon was cooked to perfection and the flavor overall was in my all time top 5 favorites!! My husband ordered the steak sandwich and it was great. Steak was thin cut and tender. Came with fries. His favorite was the dips! Be sure to try the Bloody Mary ketchup if you like spicy! Husband had a masons brewed red ale served cold and with a smile. The bartender was attentive and gave us great service. I was even able to buy a bottle of Masons gin to take home. Cool bottle and a steal for under $40! Definitely worth a try if you’re...

My wife and I always stop at local breweries as we explore an area. Mason's isn't just a brewery though, as they have a good selection of amazing food. Like seriously, it's not just "pub food." It is awesome, well made, well thought out food. We had cherry-bourbon-orange wings (who else makes those), and one of the pizzas. The pizza was basically gourmet. Did I mention they are actually a brewery and have beer too. The service was fantastic, the vibe was right, and it was a great time. Definitely going back before we leave the area.

Went in at lunch time. Not busy, thankfully. Menu was hard to choose from because everything had a "spin" to it. Ordered the fried pickles and the slaw and bean hot dog. Picture below. Also ordered there signature brand by themselves. Very good food. Hot dog was smokey tasting and buns were moist. Burgers were very filling. Wife had a land and sea burger...basically a hamburger with lobster. Very unique as I said. Pickles came with a spicy but not to spicy sauce. All in all a good meal. Would recommend

Awesome lunch stop on our way to Cutler/ Little River Light! Great menu, great service, staff was very friendly and accommodating! I can’t vouch for the beer because I’m a wine drinker (yes they do have a full bar) but my travel partners are and said the beer was delicious and bought some to go. Food did not disappoint! New addition apparently to Machias- I wish them continued success and will definitely stop in again if up in this area!
