Hometown Café — Restaurant in Macomb

From Macomb diner to Max & Molly's nothing changed. As a customer of both names on several occasions, I can honestly say it is terrible. The owners are still lazy and rude, they don't help their staff, food still comes out cold or not prepared correctly, the orders are incomplete, the wait staff didn't know who serves who and carried an attitude, waiting to get served took 20 minutes and then waited another 35 for our meals, not to mentioned there was only ONE waiter taking care of everyone in the restaurant. If it weren't for MATT, the visit would have been absolutely awful. He kept the place running as smooth as possible during our visit, took responsibility for everyone else's lack of work, and kept a smile on his face with a positive attitude. After dining at the restaurant under both names a handful of times, I have NEVER once had a positive experience here and would NEVER suggest this restaurant to anyone.

Additional detail The owner collected plates before we were done eating then didn't offer boxes for left over food, repeatedly just wandered the restaurant and not helping serve of check up on customers, and didn't help the waiters with the busy tables. As for the food, it came out cold and cooked medium well instead of medium (on a burger), we also didn't get our side of hash browns for our other order. Consider this a shared review between my wife and me—hence the 3 stars. Allow me to explain.

I'm going to come right out and say I'm addicted to Hometown Cafe's Biscuit's and Gravy. I get it every time I go. I've tried B+G at many restaurants in the area, including nearby towns, and this just puts others to shame.

All the staff members we've ever talked to are very friendly. Definitely some very nice people. The cooks are very fast too. Even on busy days, our food is out in about 10 minutes. Perhaps, the food we order just doesn't take much time to make, but we really appreciate the speed.

I absolutely love this place, but my wife does not, and for good reason. She's vegetarian, and there really aren't many options available for her compared to other restaurants in Macomb, which leads to us going there less than I would like.

Pasta with marinara is on the menu, but it's not actually available. Only meat sauce. Making this option available, and even adding a veggie burger to the menu, would give her some more choices and would lead to us returning more often. We would absolutely change this to a 5 star review and throw more money at you if these changes were made.

Macomb is a college town. I'm sure there are other vegetarians that would love to see some more options that fit with their diet on the menu. I eat meat, but sometimes I like vegetarian options to cut down on my meat consumption. Variety is the...

Whole meal was terrible. 5 pm tonight on a Saturday. Pretty full. Lots of people working. We were sat and then forgotten about. Several tables came in and got drinks. Finally someone noticed and she came running from the back. I ordered. She fumbled through it. Repeated order. She came back with drinks an didn’t know which one was which. Vanished until our food arrived and then realized she didn’t get the salad. Food looked terrible and was greasy. Look at that cheese sauce. Gross. So then the salad comes 10 min after the food and food. Vanished again. Had to call over another server to get our check.
